Team 8's featured prospects offered a blend of shot creation, perimeter scoring, and effort plays at the Prep Hoops Alabama Expo. [player_tooltip player_id='2889158' first='Alijah' last='Nelson'] showed left-handed craft and multiple ways to create separation, while JaRory McCurdy paired scoring with activity on the glass and defensive disruption. [player_tooltip player_id='3661421' first='RJ' last='Hatcher'] supplied shooting and contributions on both ends, finding opportunities through cuts, drives, and transition action. [player_tooltip player_id='3728083' first='James' last='Bagby'] offered a glimpse of his touch with a floater over a defender, and [player_tooltip player_id='3686076' first='Cade' last='Hampton'] combined floor-running effort with three-point shooting. This breakdown examines what each player showed and the areas worth tracking as their games continue to develop.

Alijah is a left-handed creator who showed multiple ways to get into his scoring package. He used crossover and step-back moves to create separation, scored with the pull-up, and added three-ball value. The ability to threaten from different spots makes his dribble-drive game harder to sit on. He also stayed involved defensively, generating steals and turning opportunities into fast-break layups. His effort on the defensive end supported the offensive skill rather than leaving the focus of his game centered only on shot-making. The next step is building consistency in his reads after the initial move so he can keep an advantage alive when a second defender steps into his path.

Jarory brought energy and effort that showed up in several parts of the game. He generated multiple steals, worked both backboards, and stayed involved in creating additional possessions. Offensively, he added multiple threes, used a crossover to score, and found his way through the defense for layup finishes. His activity did not depend on having the ball in his hands every trip, which adds value to his profile. He can help a group through hustle plays while still providing scoring. Building on the decision-making that follows his initial attack will help him turn that activity into more consistent possession-to-possession production.

James showed touch in the lane by converting a floater over a defender. The floater is a useful answer when the path to a clean layup is challenged, allowing a player to release the ball before reaching the contest at the rim. He showed a glimpse of his scoring touch, but his full creation package still is developing makign him a prosepct to kep track of over the next couple of years.

Cade brought effort in running the floor and added three-point shooting out of his overall floor game. Getting into transition early created opportunities before the defense was organized helping him to take advantage of open opportunities. He fits really well in today's game as he is abudding shot maker from behnd the arc. I do not believe that we saw the full range of his game at camp, and he is a player to keep track of over the next coupl eof years.

RJ showed consistent perimeter shooting and remained involved in several other areas of the game. He made multiple threes, scored on cuts and dribble drives, and supplied assists, giving his offense a useful balance of finishing and connection. Defensive rebounds, good on-ball defensive work, and steals that led to fast breaks supported his activity on the other end. He did not have to rely on one type of possession to contribute. That combination gives him value as an active guard who can space the floor and keep the game moving. Continued growth in decision-making against pressure will strengthen his overall reliability.
