This year's PrepHoops Oregon Sophomore ID Camp took place at The Beaverton Hoop YMCA and many of the top in-state players and beyond from the Class of 2029 took the court to compete against one another in some very spirited competition. We had the opportunity to watch the action from start to finish, and after conferring with a number of other observers in attendance have come up with our All-Camp Teams – five members each on the First, Second, and Third Team. Here is the Second Team.

Good all-around player with good physical size, strength, and height to complement his “Point-Forward” ability to bring the ball up the court at his position. He runs the floor and “General forward” when facilitating an assist to his teammate in transition and/or half-court. Extremely solid rebounder on both ends of the floor. Can stretch the floor and knock down the three-pointer; has a nice high-post mid-range jumper. Good pump fake when necessary to play through contact for interior points in the paint. Has a nice touch off the backboard. Defensive lateral footwork will improve over the next few seasons, as will his shot-blocking talents which he showed flashes of. (JT)

Slightly undersized post with a versatile game. Has the bulk and physicality to make up for inches of height inside to establish solid post position and used good hands and footwork with a soft touch to finish around the hoop. Capably stepped outside to face up and hit open jumpers with consistency with range past the three-point line and can create off the bounce a bit. Tremendous interior passer. Solid rebounder and physical on defense. (JT)

Long, lanky, and athletic forward at 6-foot-4. A rebounding machine on both ends who may very well have led all participants in boards collected. Finished well around the hoop, using some fundamental post moves but was especially proficient on putbacks of offensive rebounds, and ran the floor for a number of easy transition buckets. Length was a factor defensively both blocking shots and affecting additional attempts. (JT)

One of the fastest guys from baseline to baseline in the event with the basketball or without. Very talented using his speed to blow by an entire team of defenders for coast-to-coast scoring in every game. He showed he could score from a variety of spots on the floor (3-point, mid-range, floaters, layup package, etc.) and most importantly he also showed he could convert his defensive talents into points as well by generating steals with his good lateral footwork and quick first step.
All-around 5-foot-10 point guard who did a little bit of everything. Outstanding shooter from the perimeter who constantly knocked down open shots. Capable at driving and finishing at the hoop, drawing contact in the process. Tremendous passer in both the halfcourt and fullcourt settings, always keeping his head up to look for the open man cutting to the hoop. Active perimeter defender with quick hands. (JT)
