2026 PH Oregon Freshman Showcase - Team Eight Scouting Report

The PrepHoops Oregon Freshman Showcase took place on Sunday and this week, we will take a look at our scouting notes for each individual roster, breaking down this huge crop of talent from around the Pacific Northwest, player-by-player. Here's a look at Team Eight.   Scouting Reports contributed by Lorenzo Leaks    #659 - A smaller player who wants to compete with the best; healthy competition will become a vital tool in his box. Really quick, once he understands how to use that quickness on every possession on both ends of the floor and create go-to moves using his speed, he will be a major asset to his team defense and offensive strategies. Good feel for the game, good I.Q., scored a few baskets in the event.     #664 - A fast player who has a nice hesitation move to get downhill and attack the basket, nice touch off the glass, has 3-pt. Range, good pivot footwork, and court vision, decent fundamentals, a team player who showed good effort in the event. Nice lateral footwork on defense as well.     #679 - A quick guard, can really get up and down the court. As he gets stronger, he will be in position to impact the game a little more. He competes, which is a bonus! Has 3-pt. Shooting range.     #681 - A quick general who flashed in getting defensive rebounds, steals, and deflections and taking the ball the full length of the court. Decision-making and finishing plays will be part of his progress this season, and leading his team.     #688 - A good, solid developing young team player to have on any team; he does a lot of the right things for his team. Fundamentally sound, hustles, can bring the ball up the court to get his team into half-court sets offensively with good decision-making. Defensively, he had a few steals and drove around defenders for 3⁄4 court scores. He adds value to a team.     #698 - A lengthy forward who runs the lanes solidly to create opportunities for himself and teammates. A decent defender who will be even better as he gets stronger; he currently has decent lateral footwork. He's a player who will look different every month as he makes progress weekly. Nice talent to have on the team with a few more offensive touches.     #732 - A very talented guard who plays with tenacious energy on defense; he has quick feet and hands, and competes on every possessions is definitely one of his good qualities. He's a good athlete capable of evolving into a solid all-around scorer from slashing to the basket, running lanes, offensive rebounds, defensive steals, and 3-pt. shooting. He can play multiple positions. It will be very interesting to see what one year does for him with complete development.     Will evolve into a MAJOR presence on the court one day, using his height, size, strength, and skill set. He is capable of being in every statistical category in the game of basketball. Once he learns how to play at an ELITE level, he could be a very dominant player on both ends of the floor. He's a threat on the offensive boards and a decent athlete. Setting screens and rolling into short jump shots and/or drives to the basket should be part of his development progress chart. Had a few really good quick spin moves on the post. Positioning and learning the “Art” of shot blocking should be a developmental tool in his box as well.     A strong “Point forward” who plays at his tempo. Solid all-around player who can score from the post, off drives, and/or jumpshots. A good facilitator as well, made some really good 3⁄4 court passes in transition. Has good lateral footwork and balance on defense.
