SWBC 2026 9th Team

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>August 17th-18th Cedric Cobb Sr and I held the 9th annual&nbsp;<strong>Southwest Basketball Camp</strong>&nbsp;at the Phhacility in Phx, AZ.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>120 players came to gain exposure in front of college coaches and scouts plus compete versus some top end players over the two days.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Each player competed in 5 games for the two days plus 48 competed in an extra All-Star Game. (Top-24 or Top-48 All-Star Game)</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Here is the 9th Team</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2956985' first='Elijah' last='Antoine'] <strong>Maryvale</strong> </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A bigger scoring guard with athleticism and skill. He filled in for one day and showed what he can do with playing and defending multiple positions. He has a smooth handle and he can get downhill and score with mid-range jumpers plus cover his opponent on D. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2919552' first='Benson' last='Bradley'] <strong>Paradise Valley</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A cerebral point guard is a smart passer and moves the ball like you should to the open teammate. He never forces the issue and plays within the flow of the offense. He can dribble past his initial defender and score with mid-range jumpers off the catch or dribble. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2173093' first='Josef' last='Brisby'] <strong>Las Cruces/NM</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The 10th ranked player from New Mexico crossed the border to showcase what he has. He showed he can be a true point guard who is a really good passer. He will throw passes up the court and drive and kicks it. He has a nice first step to burst past his defender and get to the basket. He looks like he will have a big year in the land of the enchantment. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='3727137' first='Kydon' last='Chiarelli'] <strong>Coronado </strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The smallest player in attendance is highly skilled, smart and will beat you with his feel for the game. He will score with mid-range pull-ups, deep threes, tough layups in traffic and seems to love the mid-range jumper. He has a slick handle and plays bigger then his height suggests. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2785907' first='Jackson' last='Hefferon'] <strong>Deer Valley</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>An undersized point guard who can score it and make a play. He will slither down the lane to get downhill in traffic with a nice handle and he will hit the three off the catch. He manages to get to his spots with his craftiness and cerebral play. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='3727113' first='Ezra' last='Madueno-Lofton'] <strong>Sequoia Pathfinder</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The lone 8th grader held his own over the two days. He is a strong framed combo guard who is a good ball handler and will smartly play off of the pick and roll action. He will score with pull-ups from mid to the three, downhill takes and is tough in traffic using his strong frame. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='3491509' first='Eli' last='McClenaghan'] <strong>ALA-QC (Pictured)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A bigger wing forward has good skill and some feel for the game. He moves the ball well and he is a good rebounder in his area. He will score it with put backs off the glass, mid-range jumpers and threes off the catch. He should get a bigger workload on varsity this season. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='3596917' first='Josiah' last='Miller'] <strong>Sabino</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A bigger power forward with good fluidity and athleticism. He runs the floor well and he is all arms and legs to rebound the ball well in his area using his bounce and motor. He will score it with rip thrus and downhill takes in heavy traffic. His best basketball is clearly ahead of him. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2916076' first='Jordan' last='Noble'] <strong>Palo Verde</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A highly skilled scoring guard made the transfer last year and had to sit all year long and is ready to make his mark this year for the defending 3A state champs. He will score with threes off the catch, mid-range jumpers and layups thru contact.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2548083' first='Austin' last='Starr'] <strong>Pinnacle</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A sharp shooting combo guard is a southpaw with a pretty stroke. He will drill threes with a quicker trigger with a repeated release from beyond the stripe. He will move the ball like you should and smartly moves without the ball to relocate to an open spot to let it fly. He can also make shots off the dribble from both perimeter spots. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
