SWBC 2026 10th Team

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>August 17th-18th Cedric Cobb Sr and I held the 9th annual&nbsp;<strong>Southwest Basketball Camp</strong>&nbsp;at the Phhacility in Phx, AZ.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>120 players came to gain exposure in front of college coaches and scouts plus compete versus some top end players over the two days.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Each player competed in 5 games for the two days plus 48 competed in an extra All-Star Game. (Top-24 or Top-48 All-Star Game)</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Here is the 10th Team</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2891695' first='Jayden' last='Bebout-Vega'] <strong>Tempe Prep (Pictured)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A strong framed power forward with a next level build. He rebounds the ball well in and out of his area with plus length and his strong upper body. He will score it with rip thrus to the basket, offensive rebound put backs and runs the floor. He will defend inside the paint and out on the perimeter. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='3727926' first='Nathan' last='Camacho'] <strong>Maricopa</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A newcomer for me is a bigger shooting guard who plays the game with a high IQ. He is a smart player who moves without the ball and plays within himself. He has plus footwork inside the paint to score, he can step out and shoot it from the perimeter and rebounds well in his area. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='3727289' first='Ian' last='Carrillo'] <strong>Ironwood</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>One of the top-5 freshmen at the two-day camp was Carrillo. An undersized combo guard who is a lefty shooter. He loves letting it fly from the three point line and has a quicker trigger with some range. He has quick hands on defense and plays some toughness to go along with his skill. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='3589618' first='Madden' last='Flanigan'] <strong>ALA WF</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A scoring guard is a newcomer for me who plays the game with some feel and he is a sneaky good passer. He made some nice finds and lobs passes over the two days. He will score it with threes off the catch, euro steps in heavy traffic and he is quick in the passing lanes to collect steals.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='3727293' first='Yusef' last='Hafez'] <strong>Cactus Canyon</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>One of the top-5 freshmen at the two-day camp is an undersized scoring point guard. He plays with a cerebral approach to the game and will utilize the pick and roll game and find a teammate. He will score with threes off the catch and he can burst down the lane and use the floater game. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='3727307' first='Landon' last='Mikula'] <strong>Coronado </strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Another newcomer for me is a senior scoring guard. He is another smart player for the Dons who is a southpaw shooter with real range and a quicker trigger. He has a solid handle and manages to get to his spots and will pull-up from mid-range off the dribble. He smartly moves the ball and should have a good senior season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2849553' first='Mikel' last='Montgomery'] <strong>Maryvale</strong> </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A last second replacement on day-2 for an injured player showed what he can do. The junior combo guard is a natural downhill player who plays with toughness and strength. He can get a step on his defender to the basket and bounce off of his opponents. He will also shoot the three and defend multiple positions. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='3028737' first='Aymen' last='Salti']<strong> Paradise Valley</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A face-up combo forward has the toughness and strength to play both spots up front. He rebounds really well in his area as he will leap up with two hands to corral the ball off the glass. He can shoot it from mid to the three point line and get to the basket. He will also cut off the ball. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2892770' first='Seth' last='Thompson'] <strong>Camp Verde</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A decent sized scoring guard with some nice length for position and fluidity. He is a natural downhill player and takes long strides to the basket to score it with in-traffic finishes. He will finish it off or earn trips to the free throw line. His size and length allows him to defend a couple positions and he is a team player. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2961250' first='Von' last='Herzog'] <strong>Brophy Prep</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>One of the top-5 freshmen at the two-day camp is a sharp shooting combo guard who can play on or off the ball and lead a team in a pinch. He is a top notch shooter off the catch or pull, handles it well fluidly for an incoming freshmen and truly plays from the neck up. He can burst to the basket for layups and use the floater game.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
