Sophomore ID Camp Starting Five

Some of the state's top prospects in the 2029 class converged on Seminole Sports Academy for the Prep Hoops Sophomore ID Camp on Sunday. The event featured plenty of young talent looking to stand out heading into the high school season. Here's a look at five prospects who made a name for themselves with strong performances.    A prospect who continues to impress with each evaluation, Vancott was outstanding on Sunday in Longwood. The sophomore possesses an intriguing combination of size, skill, length, and athleticism that makes him one of the top prospects in Florida's 2029 class. He is a versatile three level scorer who shot the ball with efficienctly from beyond the arc, while also showing the ability to create offense off the bounce and finish at the rim. Defensively, his length, instincts, and versatility allow him to impact the game in multiple ways and guard nearly every position. He is also a willing rebounder who contributes at both ends of the floor. With his combination of production and long term upside, expect Vancott's stock to continue to rise under head coach Mark Lieberman, who returns to the sidelines this season at Pace.     The camp's leading scorer in 5-on-5 play, Harriott is dynamic combo guard who can score at all three levels. He is very difficult to keep out of the paint and can finish with either hand around the rim. The sophomore has high level quickness and the ability to change speeds, making him extremely difficult to defend. The PK Yonge product is a capable and improving perimeter shot maker and has all the physical tools to be a high level defender. Expect him to rise in our next updated 2029 rankings.     Jones is an athletic, versatile combo forward with an intriguing combination of size, mobility and skill. He runs the floor extremely well, is an above the rim finisher and shows the ability to finish with either hand around the rim. He has the ability to stretch the floor with his perimeter shooting and handles the ball well for his size. Jones has good hands, rebounds the ball at a high rate and brings versatility on both ends of the floor. He is a 2029 prospect on the rise that will be featured in our updated rankings later this fall.     A move-in from Pennsylvania, Tranovich arrives in Jacksonville as a highly skilled perimeter scorer with the ability to put the ball in the basket at all three levels. He is an impressive shot maker with deep range who can make shots both off the catch and off the dribble. Tranovich plays with a high basketball IQ, has good positional size, and has above average athleticism. He is another prospect who has earned a spot in our updated 2029 rankings later this fall.     The sophomore point guard is a true floor general who plays with toughness and has a high basketball IQ. The Ocala product can get downhill and is a creative finisher in the paint. He is a solid perimeter shot maker with range beyond the arc and an excellent passer. Billingsley has a good command of the basketball and uses ball screens effectively. Expect him to be one of the state's top point guards in the 2029 class.
