It was time to revisit the Class of 2028 rankings as July wrapped and adjust to account for the player's growth or stagnation. Rankings are subjective and PrepHoops.com/Tennessee (@CourtneyHoops90 + Andrew Force) ranks purely upon potential and where the player will be at their basketball peak. Production factors in only when helping prove the potential is greater or lesser. Why did we rank these guys? Why are they at this spot? Take a look at several Class of 2028 prospects and learn a little about their reputation.

Creative, crafty. [player_tooltip player_id='2637452' first='Nathan' last='Southall'] earned PrepHoopsTN Combine Mid Tenn All-Star Game MVP early in June. Playing with his new team, Battle Ground Academy, Southall committed to defensive transition. He showed off nice endurance too. Read plenty about Nathan's wonderful combine showing through his Prep Hoops profile.

It was a tough late spring/early summer for [player_tooltip player_id='2866448' first='Abram' last='Phillips'] as he dealt with injury. Thankfully he was cleared to play in July, according to Pickett County Head Coach Lee Amonett. The Bobcats of Pickett County belong as either the favorites or Top 2 entering the 2026-2027 season. Phillips projects as a point guard though he defers primary ball-handling responsibilities to [player_tooltip player_id='2195034' first='Cole' last='J. Amonett'] currently. Abram's release upon the catch is quicker than most. As a sophomore Abram averaged just over 10 ppg.

[player_tooltip player_id='2541296' first='Gregory' last='Cason'] was a promising freshman talent on Cleveland's jv team under then-Head Coach Reggie Tucker. With Bradley Central he was the first guard off of the bench last winter behind [player_tooltip player_id='3341280' first='Jeremiah' last='Brownlow'] and [player_tooltip player_id='3266884' first='Terrell' last='Goldston']. Cason provided the Bears with instant offense. He is quick and a bit crafty. Needs to bulk up, as all underclassmen hoopers do.

[player_tooltip player_id='2775639' first='Kale' last='Martin'] plays for his father at Murfreesboro's Siegel High. Kale is a high effort guy. He makes his free throws count. [player_tooltip player_id='2775639' first='Kale' last='Martin'] is best as a shooter from deep though he is no slouch as a driving threat.

As a sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='3450060' first='Manny' last='Holley'] averaged 8.3 points per game in just 18.8 mpg. He was not much of a rebounder from the guard position and he did commit an uncomfortable amount of turnovers (2.3 topg). Last winter Holley showed some nice spatial awareness attacking Northpoint Christian's zone defense. He did not force challenged shots and understood when his movement drug a zone defender out of position.
