Putting in Work: Grinding in the Offseason

From early-morning workouts to grueling club tournaments, players in both ND and SD spent the summer putting in the kind of work that doesn't always make headlines but shows up when the lights come back on.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"style":{"typography":{"fontStyle":"normal","fontWeight":"100"}},"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size" style="font-style:normal;font-weight:100">In this article, we're highlighting a mix of ballers from both states who took their game seriously this offseason. Whether it was club competition, high school camps, open gyms, or individual training sessions, these are the players who kept grinding and gave us plenty to be excited about heading into the winter. Brody is a versatile scorer who gets hot from deep. Spader is a lengthy defender who guards well inside and out. He is also a great finisher and athlete. Carter put in a ton of time this summer. He ran the offense for the Wolves and is adjusting to a bigger role. Breitbach is expected to be one of the top perimeter shooters in Class A this season. Omdahl is versatile with great instincts. This summer in hoops, Omdahl played great defense at Team Camps. He is becoming a lockdown defender and scores at three levels on the other end. Bullinger stood out with his all-around basketball tools. He scores the rock impressively from every level. This kid is confident and coachable. PHD is impressed with his length and playmaking. Hawk is focusing on becoming a legit three-level scorer. This summer, he carved up his body, sharpened his handles, improved speed, boosted his vertical, and upgraded his athleticism. Look for Talton to exploit mismatches this winter. What really stood out was his trust in his teammates, his ability to create space, and how often he set up his guys for clean looks. PHD is impressed with Tayshaun's speed, quickness, and playmaking. Mr. Young put up an impressive 16 ppg. He scored from all over the floor with deep 3-pointers, draining mid-range shots, and downhill attacks. Teegan's biggest improvement from the summer was his mental strength/toughness. He learned to play through adversity and began to thrive in all situations. He is a long and explosive athlete with a bright future. Will developed a nice 3-point shot this past season; he showed it off at the State Tournament and carried it into summer ball. Aderhold is also a great rebounder and blocks a boatload of shots.
