Earlier this week, we posted a poll with 12 prospects to determine who the people believed had the best grassroots season. This was limited to the class of 2027 only and the participation was phenomenal as we received a total of 33,500 (!!) total votes. Below, we take a look at the top three, according to the numbers.

His final numbers in EYBL play were 12.9PPG on 37.7/27.7/74.3 shooting splits to go with 6RPG, 4.8APG and 1.4SPG. At this time, Lyons had set up official visits with seven programs including Butler, Georgetown, Maryland, Syracuse, Tennessee, VCU and Virginia. He ranks as the No. 1 overall prospect in the 2027 MD/DC rankings

2. [player_tooltip player_id='2353555' first='Malachi' last='Terrell'] | 6'1 | Clinton Grace/[program_tooltip program_id='2450576' first='Team' last='Museum']

Votes: 15,411

Context: Heck of a surge from Terrell in this poll as he maintained striking on Lyons throughout this week. Set to pair with Lyons in Clinton Grace's backcourt, the 6'2" lead guard is coming off a nice spring/summer with [program_tooltip program_id='2450576' first='Team' last='Museum'] on the PRO16 Circuit where he was the bell cow in terms of playmaking responsibilities. He's dynamic with a quick twitch that allows him to create advantages off the bounce, plays with quick processing as a passer and can dig in defensively both on/off the ball. Terrell played with Riverdale Baptist for the June Scholastic Live Periods where he averaged an impressive 20.1PPG, 3.6RPG and 2APG. Terrell's decision to transfer to Clinton Grace became official after our latest update of the 2027 rankings, but you can be sure he'll be in good position in our next update as one of the more prominent point guards.

3. [player_tooltip player_id='2353561' first='Brandon' last='Woodard'] | 6-8 | Bishop McNamara/[program_tooltip program_id='2078457' first='Team' last='Durant']

Votes: 771

Context: Drastic difference from No. 2 to No. 3 in terms of sheer number of votes, but it doesn't correlate to the summer that Woodard had for [program_tooltip program_id='2078457' first='Team' last='Durant']. At 6'8", Woodard possesses some of the most supreme athleticism in the high school landscape and he made it known with demoralizing poster dunks, emphatically blocking shots at the rim following weakside rotations and doing his diligence on the glass. He averaged 10.3PPG on 51 percent shooting from the field, 6.2RPG and 1.6APG in EYBL play. In DMV Live play, he had spurts of dominance as he averaged a double-double of 15.6PPG, 10.4RPG and 2.1APG. The No. 2 overall player in our 2027 MD/DC rankings, Woodard has set official visits to Georgetown, Mississippi State, Providence and Rutgers.
