Pacific Elite Camp - Top Performers

Pacific Men's Basketball held its first elite camp in 2026 this past Monday where head coach Justin Lunt and his assistants helped lead and teach a group of collegiate prospects on campus at Stoller Gymnasium. The competition was intense as players from all over the West Coast and beyond were in the building hoping to make an impression on the Boxers coaching staff and earn a roster spot offer. We had the opportunity to watch much of the 4x4 and 5x5 action and based on our observations and discussions with the coaching staff afterward, here are the top performers among the participants from in-state.    Lugo was our selection for the top performer from Oregon on the day. The rising senior guard showed great poise and composure with the ball in his hands, always seemingly making the right play. He shot the ball well, made the right reads with his passing, and was constantly playing under control. We fully expect that he ends up one of the prospects receiving a roster spot offer after his performance.     One of the top big men in attendance, Yamashita effectively used his length and athleticism. This was particularly evident on the boards as the rising senior grabbed the most rebounds from the games we watched. He ran the floor extremely well which led to some strong finishes above the rim. Offensively he largely operated from the perimeter, knocking down jumpers both off the catch and the pull-up from mid-range out past the three-point line.     Aggressiveness was the name of the game for Baertsch Kovalchick at Pacific Elite Camp. A scorer, the rising senior certainly looked for his shot, both from the perimeter and attacking the basket. But where the Lakeridge guard really caught our attention was on the defensive end as his motor was relentless. He was constantly harassing his assignment with his on-the-ball D, often poking the ball away and creating turnovers.     There's no question Karman can shoot the ball - he's well-regarded as one of the top three-point marksmen in the state. This continued to be clear at Pacific Elite Camp as the lefty used his quick release to knock down a number of catch-and-shoot threes, only needing a smidgen of space to get his shot off. The rising senior didn't just bomb away though as he also used the dribble to create and he finished a handful of floaters in the lane too.     One of the biggest sleeper prospects in the senior class, Muzzy earned an invitation to Pacific Elite Camp from his performances on the club circuit and his performance inside of Stoller Gym not only matched but exceeded expectations. The rising senior guard effectively used his length and rangy frame to create mismatches on both ends of the floor, and he not only got to the hoop but was able to often follow up his own shot off the offensive glass. He'll need to continue building strength and experience, both of which should happen this upcoming seaosn at Barlow.
