On Sunday, August 9th, I attended PA Athletics Curry College Prospect Showcase at Curry's campus in Milton, MA. About 50 player were present for morning skills and drills and afternoon games. I saw everybody play a few times.

Below is my first team from the event.

Dinunzio was probably the camp's leading scorer and arguably the best player in attendance. The 6-foot-3 forward is super undersized for his position, but he works so hard that he makes up for it. He's relentless on the boards and has phenomenal hands, so he's able to tip the ball to himself and track it off the rim better than most. The lefty also finishes well with both hands and has lethal touch around the hoop with his left hand, especially when he shoots his little turnaround shots. The rising senior also cuts super well without the ball, is unselfish when it gets swung to him and there's nothing available right away, and is a crushing screener. Dinunzio will find a fit at the D3 level and is going to make his future coach extremely happy with his effort and little-things attitude. He exudes “coachable”.

This was my second time seeing Halloren play in person, and I came away impressed with his fundamental skillset and unselfish attitude. The 6-foot-8 big man is content to box out and grab rebounds, outlet to guards, and then sprint the floor—he does these three things consistently for the entire game. He knows his role and sticks to it, but he can finish in the paint when he gets dump down passes and creates lots of open driving angles for his guards by way of his crushing screens and smart DHO instincts. Halloren can even step out and knock down some shots, but he'll only take good ones and will never throw away good team offense for individual looks, unless they're wide open. The rising junior plays super hard and is going to be an awesome piece for Bancroft this coming season and will be a college prospect soon enough.

Levesque is a low mistake, high IQ player who always makes the right play. He has size at 6-foot-3, but he moves like a guard and has a quick, accurate shot release that makes him a threat from the perimeter. He moves well without the ball and understands how to cut and screen, but he can also use slow steps and other finesse moves to finish in the paint with both hands—he has soft touch around the hoop and uses his body well. He was also one of the better passers I saw and clearly understands how to be a ball mover and keep the flow of the offense. Levesque should be one of Gorham High School's best players this upcoming season and will be able to find a D3 fit after that, but I also wouldn't be surprised to see him find a post-grad fit.

Hastie might've been the most skilled player at the camp—he has big-time feel and IQ and is super fun to watch. The 5-foot-10 guard has a tight handle (especially his right to left crossover) and gets into the paint at will as a result. Once he gets there, he does a good job slowing down and making good reads, whether they're finishes under the rim, jumpers at the foul line, or most commonly really smart spray out or dump down passes to teammates. He plays hard on both ends and understands how to run an offense. Hastie certainly won't wow you with his athletic tools, but his skillset is college ready right now, especially if he can show that a consistent three-point jumper is there. He should be a star at Pelham this season, which should help his recruitment a bit.

Solhich-Kopcho is a super intriguing prospect because of his combination of size, athleticism, and coordination. The 6-foot-4 wing has a strong upper body and good ball-handling ability, so he can fight through contact and get to the front of the rim for finishes. But he also has good passing vision and positional feel. Defensively, he has phenomenal help-side instincts and was the best talker I saw in the gym. He also rebounds like a madman and has great toughness. Sohlich-Kopcho needs to get his jumper most consistent from both the mid-range and three, but the Bedford NH native could be a relatively high level D3 prospect if he does so. Regardless, he should find a fit at the college level and will be a solid post-grad candidate if he doesn't like his options after this season.
