The North Carolina (aka the hoopstate) Class of 2030 already has some intriguing size, but what stands out is how many of these players are developing beyond a traditional position. This group has been shown over the summer and the last few years the ability to use length and physical tools to create advantages as scorers, rebounders, defenders and playmakers.

Here are seven NC 2030 prospects using their size in different ways.

At 6-foot-7, Cannon immediately stands out because of his physical profile, but his value comes from how he moves and operates. He has the size to play bigger while showing enough perimeter ability to keep defenders from simply playing him as a traditional big.

The projection is what makes him interesting. If his handle, shooting and decision-making continue to come along, Cannon has the tools to become a matchup problem on both ends.

Watkins has already shown why his size is such a problem for opponents. At 6-foot-5, he can score around the basket, attack from the perimeter and take on more responsibility with the ball.

His next step is continuing to turn those tools into consistent creation. The more comfortable Watkins becomes making reads with the ball, the harder it will be to keep smaller defenders from being exposed.

Bain has continued to add to his game while maintaining the physical profile that first put him on the radar.

Bain's size gives him opportunities around the basket, but his development as a perimeter player is where his ceiling gets interesting. Better shooting and tighter creation could turn him into a difficult matchup across multiple positions.

Bray has continued to show the type of versatility that makes his 6-foot-4 frame valuable. He can knock down shots, attack off the bounce and finish around the basket while also contributing on the glass.

His ability to score in different ways is what makes him stand out. Continued development as a creator and defender could allow him to play multiple roles as the competition improves.
