Mercyhurst Elite Camp Eye-Catchers Vol. 3

Johnson has nice positional size at the in-between guard spot and is a budding wing who brings some versatility to the perimeter. He is a threat to knock down shots from three when playing off the basketball. Johnson is also capable of putting the ball on the deck and scoring off the dribble in the mid-range. I like his ability to create offense off the bounce and use his size to create advantages against defenders. Whitaker had a productive outing at camp and proved to be a nice puzzle piece who can fit into a variety of lineups. He brings versatility on both ends of the floor, with the ability to play inside and out while also providing spacing from the perimeter. Whitaker uses his size and length to cause problems for opposing players and showed the ability to score efficiently around the interior. He also does a nice job running the floor and finding scoring opportunities in transition. Whitaker has some untapped potential and is a prospect worth continuing to track. Marino's versatility was on full display throughout camp. He is an effective slasher who has no issues navigating his way to the basket and putting pressure on the defense. Marino can score with his in-between game and does a nice job taking advantage of the space defenders give him to operate. I like his ability to play above the rim, which adds another dimension to his offensive arsenal. He is also a switchable defender who can guard multiple positions on the floor. Marino already has some division two recruitment and should see more traction from additional college programs in the coming months. Williams did a nice job impacting the game in different ways throughout camp. I like how he is always on high alert to make plays whenever he has the basketball in his hands. He showed flashes as a scorer and routinely found different ways to put the ball in the hoop. Williams is also a threat to knock down shots from three, adding another layer to his offensive game. He had several productive outings during the June Scholastic live periods and continued to make an impact while playing on the MADE Hoops Circuit in July. Bode is a skilled forward who impressed with his versatility throughout camp. He is a threat as a floor spacer, and if given room to get his shot off, he will make defenses pay. Bode also showed nice timing when going up to contest shots and used his length to prevent scoring opportunities around the rim. He can put the ball on the deck and get to different spots off the bounce, while his ability to read the game on the fly makes him an effective passer. I'm looking forward to tracking Bode from afar this season and am curious to see how his game develops throughout the upcoming year.
