North Augusta, SC — The Grassroots Finale brought the summer AAU schedule to a close with 26 seventh grade teams competing in North Augusta, as Demone Harrison Basketball Club defeated The Collective Elite in the championship game. After highlighting the top athletes, ball-handlers, and defenders from the seventh grade division, our coverage continues with a look at the top rebounders. The players featured below consistently competed on the glass, using their size, strength, timing, positioning, and motor to secure rebounds in traffic, finish defensive possessions, and generate additional opportunities with their work on the offensive boards...

Crosby Dalton consistently put himself in good rebounding position at the Grassroots Finale. He found a body when shots went up, boxed out effectively and did not rely solely on size or athleticism to come away with rebounds. Dalton stayed active around the basket and pursued misses on both ends of the floor. His technique and effort on the glass led to consistent production.

Prince Ni'Shear Davis was a difference-maker on the glass at the Grassroots Finale. He pursued the basketball with consistent activity and regularly came away with rebounds in contested areas. Davis created extra opportunities offensively while helping finish possessions with his rebounding on the defensive end. His ability to consistently come up with the ball was a significant part of his impact.

Jude Edwards brought a physical approach to rebounding at the Grassroots Finale. He used his strength around the basket to secure misses on both ends and consistently put a body on opponents when shots went up. Edwards was tough to move once he established position and took pride in doing the work required to box out. That toughness was a big reason he was able to consistently produce on the glass.

Jacob Gordon's rebounding consistently resulted in additional possessions for his team at the Grassroots Finale. He was particularly effective attacking missed shots offensively, extending trips with second-chance opportunities. On defense, Gordon cleaned up a significant number of misses and helped prevent opponents from getting multiple looks at the basket. His work on the boards had a direct impact on the possession battle.

Lamario Meikle consistently won rebounding battles at the Grassroots Finale, often coming away with the ball when multiple players were involved. He attacked missed shots aggressively and had success securing rebounds over opponents rather than waiting for the ball to come to him. Meikle's ability to grab the ball in traffic gave his team an advantage around the basket. His production on the boards was a significant part of his value.

Stay tuned for more from Prep Hoops Next!
