Crossroads Recap — Watson, Williams Headline Missouri’s Best

As our continued coverage of the Crossroads Elite Invitational rolls on, I'll now put some of Missouri's top performers from over the weekend under the microscope and get you caught up on who gained the most, including some names who were able to crack Sunday's Top 80.   [player_tooltip player_id='2617718' first='Coleman' last='Watson'] | 6'4" Guard | Lafayette   Watson led the way as one of Missouri's best in Kansas City. While many get caught up in how they view Coleman positionally, the kid can flat-out play, and the scarier thing is he's just now starting to tap into his potential. His frame continues to stretch out, and you can easily see him adding a few inches and strength to that frame in the coming year. Watching him play with the ball, he's able to see everything with his size and really make tough passes into tight windows look routine.   His decision-making with the ball is quick and steady, as he also showed he can fill it up as a dynamic scorer when called upon. As he played on Sunday as one of the camp's Top 80, it was easy to see just how he belongs in the conversation with some of the top players regionally and nationally.   [player_tooltip player_id='2675265' first='Chase' last='Williams'] | 6'3" Guard | John Burroughs   An under-the-radar name, Williams was one of the more physical guards I saw. With a rugged playing style, he really embraced playing at a deliberate pace offensively, using his body to get to spots. As a downhill driver, he consistently bullied defenders and put pressure on the painted area. Chase's passing also flashed, as he had solid vision and was able to create for others when drawing multiple bodies to the ball.   Williams was another name that was able to play his way into the Top 80 on Sunday, as he was a big piece for his team's run. His physicality and ability to put pressure on the defense made him a difficult matchup throughout the weekend and a name the St. Louis area should be watching closely this winter.   [player_tooltip player_id='2767899' first='Bronx' last='Ganaway'] | 6'7" Wing | Father Tolton   It definitely doesn't come as a surprise that Ganaway is on this list, as he already holds numerous Division I offers. However, his movement and size on the floor continue to allow him to shine, even in a loaded field of players like he saw this past weekend. He can really stretch the floor with his shooting and his ability to put the ball on the floor. Regularly drawing mismatches, it was quick to see him take advantage of long closeouts or even in isolation opportunities.   A versatile piece in Sunday's Top 80 games, the 2029 prospect more than held his own, even playing around a collection of talented and ball-dominant guards. If he can continue to embrace and build on his movement and action off the ball, you should see him take another step.   [player_tooltip player_id='2872951' first='Skyler' last='Jaegers'] | 6'6" Guard | Helias   The more I watched Jaegers over the weekend, the more his stock rose. His length in person is noticed immediately, and he really plays as a true guard, understanding spacing and how to find openings with his movement on the perimeter. While his shooting definitely popped, he also showed a surprising level of athleticism, especially in the open floor, and moved fluidly in space.   His length also helps out defensively, as he can rotate and protect the rim while routinely challenging passing lanes. Another 2028 who was able to earn a spot on Sunday's Top 80, it was a big weekend for the Helias product.   [player_tooltip player_id='2918956' first='Brayden' last='Harris'] | 6'0" Guard | De Smet   Harris was impressive over the weekend. He was aggressive and engaged, playing with a fearless approach. You couldn't miss Harris, mask and all, as he was able to cut through defenses and find gaps, finishing with floaters up and over the top of bigger interior defenders. The more you watched Brayden, the more he did. He battled on the defensive end, picking up full court and creating deflections and turnovers.   The young guard really provided a spark on the floor and showed no signs of backing down against older and more physical perimeter players. His activity and toughness stood out, and he consistently found ways to impact the game on both ends of the floor. He was also selected to the camp's Top 80 on Sunday, adding another strong note to an impressive weekend.   [player_tooltip player_id='2918995' first='Jacob' last='Schlutow'] | 6'6" Forward | Blue Springs   Schlutow would also find his way into the Top 80 after a solid showing on Saturday. His length continues to be a big asset, while from a skill standpoint, he's more than comfortable handling the basketball in the open floor or playing as a perimeter catch-and-shoot option. He challenges shots at the rim defensively, and his long arms and instincts allowed him to have success defending different body types throughout the weekend.   Another name that, if he can take the next step physically, should be a force to reckon with a year from now. He should continue to create matchup problems in the process, especially with the versatility he already brings to the floor.
