He's a high IQ guard who can really, really shoot it from the 3-point line, both off the dribble and the catch. Norris has the ultimate green light, and for good reason, as he's arguably the best pure shooter in the state. He has picturesque form, unlimited range, and a lightning-quick trigger off both the dribble and the catch. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>3.) 2028 [player_tooltip player_id='2772340' first='Kylen' last='Vander Schaaf'] (Sergeant Bluff-Luton) -- 43/98 (43.9%)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Vander Schaaf has found himself on a number of these top 10 returnee lists, a testament to just how good he was on both ends of the floor as a sophomore. He's a really skilled guard who can shoot the lights out both off the dribble and the catch, and he can play with or without the ball in his hands.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>4.) 2027 [player_tooltip player_id='2370429' first='Peter' last='Wedewer'] (Wahlert Catholic) -- 60/138 (43.5%)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Wedewer was awesome as a junior for the Golden Eagles, burying a team-high 60 3-pointers and doing so in a variety of different ways at an efficient clip. He's equally strong shooting it off the dribble or the catch, and he gets the ball into his shooting pocket quickly, making him tough to contest.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>5.) 2027 Cale Petersen (North Polk) -- 50/116 (43.1%)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A 6-2 off-ball guard, Petersen came off the bench in 60% of the Comets games last season, providing some real scoring punch with his ability to stretch the floor. He has a quick trigger off the catch and tons of range.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>6.) 2027 Brooks Mitchell-Birdsell (Benton) -- 27/63 (42.9%)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Mitchell-Birdsell emerged as a very reliable shooting threat for the Bobcats as a junior, averaging more than one made 3-pointer per game and averaging 7.7 points a night. Following the graduation of their lone double-figure scorer, look for him to become a bigger part of the offensvie attack this winter.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>7.) 2027 [player_tooltip player_id='2420797' first='Grant' last='Whitcomb'] (Heelan) -- 28/66 (42.4%)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Whitcomb had a really nice junior year for the Crusaders, averaging 8.8 points and posting 49-42-53 shooting splits. In addition to being a high-level shooting threat, he's also a solid secondary playmaker who dished out 2.3 assists per game last season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>8.) 2027 [player_tooltip player_id='2906500' first='Luke' last='Rushford'] (Mount Vernon) -- 27/66 (40.9%)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A 5-10 guard who can play with or without the ball in his hands, Rushford averaged 8.8 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 2.2 steals per game. He'll pair with twin brother Seth Rushford to give the 'Stangs a dynamic duo of shotmakers on the perimeter (Seth shot 37.8% last season).</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>9.) 2027 [player_tooltip player_id='2906415' first='Beckett' last='Boeset'] (Clear Creek Amana) -- 34/84 (40.5%)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Another top 10 returnee, another Boeset appearance. The Clipper guard enjoyed a breakout junior year, going from 5.4 points and 22.2% from the 3-point line as a sophomore to 19.3 points and 40.5% as a junior. He has good size at 6-3, allowing him to shoot over his defender routinely with a pure, quick release off both the dribble and the catch.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>10.) 2028 [player_tooltip player_id='2917300' first='Tate' last='Troster'] (ADM) -- 21/52 (40.4%)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Troster was a role player for the Tigers last season, helping lead them to a 3A runner-up finish, hitting some huge shots in the state tournament. He's a confident shooter, especially off the catch, and he moves really well without the ball in his hands. ADM lost their top four scorers to graduation, so expect to see Troster take a major leap as a junior.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
