2028 Rankings Update: Sleeper Point Guard Prospects

Our <a href="https://prephoops.com/georgia/rankings/2028-rankings/">Updated 2028 Rankings</a> have expanded to include 136 players in the junior class. Camps, showcases and tournaments during June and July provided plenty of opportunties for our staff to evaluate prospects from around the state. Here is a look at a handful of point guard prospects who are beginning to make a name for themselves.    DeGourville is a reliable lead guard with good positional size, strength and an impressive command of the basketball. He changes speeds effectively and does a good job keeping defenders off balance, allowing him to create scoring opportunities at all three levels. DeGourville has a high basketball IQ and plays with good poise, consistently making sound decisions with the ball in his hands.     Walker moved into the Top 50 of our updated 2028 rankings and continues to establish himself as an intriguing lead guard in the class. He is a quick, speedy point guard with an impressive command of the basketball who can impact the game as both a scorer and distributor. Walker is a capable perimeter shot maker with range beyond the arc and shows a strong understanding of how to read defenders and operate effectively out of ball screen situations.     The junior lead guard moved up 10 spots in our updated rankings and continues to trend in the right direction. Gans-Lartey has above average quickness and an impressive command of the basketball, using changes of speed effectively to keep defenders off balance. He is a capable perimeter shot-maker who commands respect from defenders, opening up opportunities for him to attack off the bounce and get into the paint. Gans-Lartey is also a willing and capable passer who can create opportunities for teammates.     Another prospect on the rise in our updated rankings, Doyley makes the move to Dutchtown for the 2026-27 season after an impressive showing at the NBA Academy Games in July. The junior guard has good positional size and strength and is a productive three level scorer who can create offense in a variety of ways. Doyley also has a good feel for the game and plays with confidence, giving him a unique combination of physical tools, skill and scoring ability.     Kilgore is a strong, productive lead guard who plays with toughness and can impact the game as both a scorer and facilitator. He is a reliable perimeter shot maker with range beyond the arc and has the command and decision making ability to effectively run a team. Kilgore sees the floor well, is a capable passer and also competes on the defensive end, where he is a willing and effective on-ball defender.
