2027 Sharpshooter Cole Rapp Talks Recruiting

Carmel Catholic guard [player_tooltip player_id='3715430' first='Cole' last='Rapp'] has one of the quickest releases you will see and his potential at the next level has drawn a lot of interest during the 17u season. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Rapp was a standout for [program_tooltip program_id='3612975' first='Kansas' last='Select'] 17U the past several months and season had a number of high notes. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>"The 17u season went great," Rapp said. "As a team we got a lot better and definitely made progress in our individual skills thanks to our coach Carter Reid. Some of our highlights were going 4-1 in the Live Period in KC for the Recruit Look Circuit. Another highlight was winning our first tournament here in Wichita in the summer."</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Rapp is now in a phase where he's starting to think about his future college home in terms of basketball opportunity but he's the quarterback of the football team as well. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>What is next for Rapp?</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>"Hopefully to start getting some more offers for college basketball," Cole said. "I am going to some college camps while also starting football camp with the team."</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A few schools have offered Rapp opportunities to play for them and Cole has some visits coming up. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>"I hold offers from McPherson and Friends, (and next) I am going to camps at Northwestern Oklahoma State and Washburn. McPherson and Friends are close to home and both have good basketball programs that can also help me get my degree and be prepared to continue my life."</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>As a junior Rapp averaged 8.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, and two assists per game shooting 43 percent from the three point line. Last winter Rapp helped Kapaun to a 26-1 record and a Class 5A State runner up in state finish. Rapp led the Crusaders with a game high 18 points in the state semi-final victory over Topeka Seaman. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We asked Rapp to describe himself as a player and he explained the following: </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>"I would describe me as a guy who can really shoot it from anywhere on the court and quick release, can defend multiple positions with the ability to play off ball or on the ball."</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
