Under the Radar Performers from PH National Open Championship

The Prep Hoops National Open Championship brought together talented teams from across the Midwest and beyond at the Pacers Athletic Center in Westfield, Indiana. Throughout the weekend, several under-the-radar performers elevated their play with productive, winning performances that deserve recognition. Here are a few Indiana prospects who made the most of their opportunity and left a lasting impression:    Got my first look at the 2027 Guard out of Corydon Central with his Indiana Elite Crossroads team this summer and he did what he does. High IQ guard that got his shot going early and often. Great shot preparation with a smooth release. Always plays under control and makes winning plays on both ends of the floor. Capable of playing on and off the ball, but is more comfortable playing with the ball in his hands creating shots for himself and others. Active defender that rebounds the guard position well and always seems to be in the right position.     Had the chance to see the 6'7” Forward/Center out of Evansville Bosse several times in the spring and June now playing for WeDifferent 812 and it was the best I had seen out of him. The physical forward played with a high motor and was a beast in the paint on both ends of the floor. Rebounded it extremely well and ran the floor well. Really liked the progression that he's made on his passing out of the post. Read double teams well and got the ball out quick to open shooters. Showed post moves with his footwork that I haven't seen and look fluid in his movements. Continues to get in better shape and the result is an increase in his athleticism. Got up for a big alley-oop in transition throwing it down with authority. When the motor is engaged, he has the the potential to be one of the better big man prospects in the state.     Intriguing 2028 Forward that gets better every time I see him. Impacts the game on both ends with his length and activity. Versatile defender that guards multiple positions, gets a lot of deflections in passing lanes and rebounds at a high level. Shows nice a nice skill set on the offensive end, but is still considered raw. Doesn't shoot it well, but is active around the basket with offensive rebounds and putbacks. Underrated passer that was really good playing in the middle of the zone and finding open teammates as well as being able to drive his matchup and get to the rim. Fluid athlete with loads of untapped potential.     Much like Lindemann, [player_tooltip player_id='2140407' first='Kellen' last='Crim'] was excellent in June for his high school team and it had translated to July with the [player_tooltip player_id='2860120' first='Midwest' last='Stars'] 17u. Smaller guard that's capable of playing either guard spot. Has a knack for making the right basketball play. Quick first step allows him to get two feet in the paint where he utilizes his floater or can dish to open. Deadeye shooter off the catch that can get hot in a hurry. Really good off the ball relocating and getting himself open into his shot.     Cayce is the epitome of a team player. Not known as a big time scorer, rather known as a guy that will do all the dirty work that doesn't necessarily show up in the box score. As an undersized forward, he has shown that he plays bigger than his size and regularly holds his own against better players. Great rebounder for his size, he also takes the challenge most games guarding the other team's best player. Offensively he's a ball mover and a screen setter. Excellent cutter off the ball that when he's open, he's capable of knocking down the three as well as driving closeouts to get in the lane. Hard nosed player that can do a little bit of everything on the floor, but sticks to his role.
