SWFL Underclassmen on the Rise, Final Five

There is a ton of talent coming up through the ranks here in SWFL, so let's take a closer look at some the freshman and sophomore prospects who have already begun to make a name for themselves in the area.    Going into just his sophomore year, Chambers may be one of the top all-around shooters in the area. He has an excellent mid-range game, and shoots it from behind the arc at a very high clip. He has unlimited range but can also beat you off the dribble and attack the basket. The 6'2" PG has tremendous handles, and the ability to create his own shot, but also has great court vision and is always looking to get his teammates involved.     An extremely athletic rising sophomore, Labbe, comes over to Cape Coral from Oasis. The 6'4" forward excels in transition game, where he can get out and run and showcase his speed and athleticism. He is quick off the floor and has excellent leaping ability, where he likes to play above the rim. Defensively, he can guard any position on the court, and is also a presence in the paint with his shot-blocking abilities.     Abdullah has put together an impressive summer and continues to see his stock rise each and every time he steps on the court. The 6'2" forward is a do it all type of player, who plays the game with great energy and looks forward to a challenge. He is a true 3-level scorer, who can knock down the outside shot, but also has the strength to finish down low through contact. Abdullah has a ton of upside and should be on every coaches radar.     The younger of the Copeland brothers, Blaise, is another great addition to the Palmetto Ridge backcourt. An extremely smart player who plays well beyond his age, Copeland is a team first guy who just wants to win. The rising freshman has already gained varsity experience, and plays the game with great composure. He handles the ball very well, and has a great shot that he shoots at a very high rate from behind the arc.     Gonzalez is an excellent two-way player with a great motor, who plays the game with a lot of energy and emotion. The 6'2" CG plays the game fast yet under control, and never takes a play off. He can be a lockdown defender who prides himself on that side of the ball, and will never back down from an assignment. He is an excellent ballhandler with a tremendous mid-range game, who can beat you off the dribble, or stop on a dime and knock the jumper in the defenses face.
