Point Guard Jaydin Araujo is Looking for One Chance

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Five-foot-11 point guard Jaydin Araujo from Wichita Southeast and the [program_tooltip program_id='2886609' first='Wichita' last='Padres'] is one of the top point guards in his class and he is looking for college programs to give him a chance. Araujo's Padres team is playing the next four weekends and he's hoping college coaches take a look and give him that chance!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>"I haven't talked to any college coaches yet, no one has talked to me, but I'm satisfied to go anywhere I just need one chance that's it," Araujo said with conviction. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In reviewing Jaydin's film you see an aggressive player that pushes the floor and immediately forces a defense to scramble to a spot and focus. He attacks the paint hard coming downhill at every angle he can get to looking to playmake. Araujo is strong so he's seemingly always on balance with his attack to finish or kick. Defenses have to be on alert for his attack. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>"I would describe myself as an all around player," Jaydin said. "My strongest part is my passing and I can score when I want, but being a pass first and defending guard is my strong suit and me getting rebounds."</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Araujo averaged 14 points a game last winter with 3.5 assists and 2.5 rebounds a contest. He then moved into play with the Padres competing alongside [player_tooltip player_id='2205716' first='Kamari' last='Jennings'], [player_tooltip player_id='2205714' first='Jaxson' last='Jackson'], Mason Marcotte, and others to have an excellent 17u season thus far. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>"It's going good," Jaydin said of his 17 season. "A lot of learning and growing has happened, just as in court IQ and learning the game better. The highlights have been seeing my teammates happy and me growing as a player and a person. I have loved enjoying making the ones around me happy with what I'm doing as well!"</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Araujo and his team have four more dates on their schedule and it's all local: three straight weekends in Kansas City and then the MAYB nationals in Wichita at the end of the month.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>"I would love to win the Recruit look KC finale and win Wichita MAYB nationals again this year, and hopefully end the summer with any type of (scholarship) offer on any level to have somewhere to start."</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Four weekends to go and Jaydin Araujo is looking for that one chance! </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
