New W/F/C Additions in the 2028 Top 50

This spring and summer provided tons of opportunities to watch SoCal prospects in the class of 2028 in a variety of settings from high school to club to showcase events. With three months of in-depth evaluation settings under out belt, we have rolled out a fresh update on our 2028 rankings. Below we break down the new wing, forward and center additions who cracked the Top 50 rankings.    Kamagate only needed one event to emerge as a national prospect which naturally led to him headlining our updated 2028 rankings at the No. 1 spot. The true 7-footer is a fluid, explosive and powerful athletic force who looks to dunk every touch around the basket with authority. Kamagate's lateral and vertical athleticism, combined with his mobility, make him one of the most intriguing long-term defensive prospects in the class.     Davis had a big spring on the 16u 3SSB Circuit with California Gold and then added to that during the June evaluation periods with Redondo Union. At 6-feet-5 with a long, wiry frame, Davis is most effective in catch-and-shoot situations where he stretches the floor with deep range and fluid and fundamental shooting mechanics. Davis also made big strides attacking the rim off the dribble with improved ball skills and increased confidence attacking closeouts. Davis, after playing limited minutes on varsity last season, debuts at No. 13 overall in our rankings.     Cunningham really impressed as one of the go-to guys for Gamepoint's 3SSB 16u squad and is set up to step in to a major role at JSerra during his junior campaign. The slashing 6-foot-4 wing uses his long, wiry frame and gliding strides to cover ground in transition and get downhill - on or off the ball - to get to the rim and score on high percentage buckets. Cunningham is also effective as a driver and finisher in half-court offense where he uses his aggressive rip and quick first step to blow-by defenders to get to the cup or pull up for a mid-range jumper.     Sacre is among the most "bouncy" wing athletes in the region and his high motor slashing and finishing is his primary source of offense. The 6-foot-7 junior fills lanes and covers ground in transition and cuts his way into explosive at-rim finishes. Sacre's effort, energy and athleticism also results in offensive boards, securing 50/50 balls and defensive versatility.     Arthon enters the rankings at No. 33 due to his combination of size, skill and upside. At 6-feet-8, the junior wing has as pure of a shooting stroke as you'll find and his size and length lead to his high release that is difficult to impact with a closeout. Arthon transferred from Chaminade to St. John Bosco with the expectation he will help the Braves compete for another Trinity League title.     Hounsou didn't see a ton of minutes on last year's loaded Sierra Canyon team but his junior season will be different. The 6-foot-7 forward was in the Trailblazers' starting lineup all throughout the month of June and is a viable interior and mid-range scorer. Hounsou has good hands, feet and touch around the rim and can face-up and shoot or attack from 15-feet and in. We see him as a prospect who is just scratching the surface of his potential and one who could rise if he has a strong high school campaign.     Dannels made the move from Nevada-based Bishop Gorman into the Trinity League with Santa Margarita and it was an important addition for the Eagles. The 6-foot-8 forward is a true "stretch four" prospect with his ability to knock down threes in a variety of different shot types, including catch-and-shoot, trail and pick-and-pop threes. Santa Margarita has done well in the past with floor stretching big men and Dannels fits that mold.     Balogun blends a big, physical frame with a combination of fluidity and quick-twitch movements that allow him to impact the offensive end with power or finesse. The 6-foot-7 forward can bully his way to the rim when checked by a smaller defender and can pull slower bigs away from the rim and attack them on face-up drives. Balogun, despite his strong frame and broad shoulders, is surprisingly light on his feet.     Ingram is back in Southern California after a stint at an Arizona prep school and hes another strong transfer addition to Redondo Union's roster. The 6-foot-6 lefty is a soft-touched finisher around the basket who creates angles with footwork, uses the glass to his advantage and can drop in a tough floater over the top of defenders. Ingram had a strong showing at Nevada Live to help the Sea Hawks win their bracket championship and it earned him a spot in our Top 50.
