Who were some of the top performers from the Kansas City Summer Showcase last weekend? We break the names down now!

The 6-foot-5 195 pound wing/forward was one of the most game to game productive players that we were able to see from this event.

Jackson was the aggressor with the ball and his ability to attack a gap and then make balanced contact into a touched in finish against the help was very impressive. Teams had to guard Jarrell with size because he's such a good rebounder (37 boards in the four games total) and that size stepped of Jackson so he was able to make perimeter jumpers, but he also touched in shots in the paint as well.

Jarrell's feel and timing on the carom is another weapon that defenses struggled to counter. A very good rebounder which helped him grab and push, or score on putbacks for the 17 plus points a contest.

A 5'11 point guard that was nightmare for the opposition. Maze is so shifty, and so quick to the next move, defenders pretty much need special powers to try and keep a hold on him. Maze used ball screens to not only clear defenders, but to get defenders off balance before attacking for various finishes.

Maze is so quick with his first step that defends can't try and cheat with a lean because he will come back the other way in a split second beating not only the initial defender, but he catches help defenders flat as well.

The type of speed that offers the potential to be an elite ball pressure defender, a nightmare in transition, and with his speed James will continue to get better and better at attacking tiring defenses late in the clock when he will be close to impossible to help to.

Love the potential of this now 5'11 lead guard.

Mason is a 6'4 wing from the that [program_tooltip program_id='2886609' first='Wichita' last='Padres'] program that keeps showing up on these pages!

Mason helped his team to an undefeated weekend and a key reason is that this team moves the basketball better than move. And if you have smart players within that movement, like Mason is, you are going to get open high percentage shots. Marocotte had several cutting behind the defense finishes and this opened up the rest of his game. Next up, an open three is made. Then he's at the foul line making shots as the defense scrambled and fouled. Now the flash to the middle is open for the pretty mid-range touch.

It all added up for a [player_tooltip player_id='3695030' first='Mason' last='Marcotte'] outstanding scoring weekend as a top performer.

Low. Post. Dominant.

Rarely do you see a player in spring/summer basketball grab nearly 13 boards a game for the entire weekend. And rarely do you see a player block 19 shots over four games, especially at 6'7 as opposed to 7'6!

The low post footwork of Hutchinson is outstanding especially the use of the pivot. Teams would throw an extra defender with a dig or a double, and Drew was patient with it and used the pivot to stay on balance and finish. Drew also did a great job forcing switches with his screens, and then going deep to post and score. Then you add in the face up jumper, sometimes out to the arc, and you had a 13 point per game scorer as well!

Great weekend from [player_tooltip player_id='2927405' first='Drew' last='Hutchinson'].

Adrian is a 6'3 wing that plays with 816 Hoops. If you were to ask simply, what did Adrian do best? Somebody would shout out that Adrian shot the ball well from the perimeter, and he did (hand down man down type situation). Or they would saw Adrian was a steady scorer all weekend, and he was.

But I think his teammates would talk about how trusted their teammate was to play with. When the ball went to the corner Brantley knocked out jumpers. When he attacked with a dribble or in penetration, he laid in the right pass for a comfortable attempt for a teammate. If Adrian grabbed the d-board he then pushed the ball and made the right decisions for his team.

An all around good player that guys like to compete with it seems.

The 6'10 center was offered by Troy Brown of USM after the weekend (University of Saint Mary) and if Coach Brown makes the choice to have you in his program it's a decision many respect.

Cooper has really taken a step forward in the last two plus months playing a more consistent, tougher post game defensively especially (the walled up low post defense has been so tough for the defense). Cooper is also rebounding consistently and going to his deep paint offense with aggression. The possession to possession production is way up and at 6'10 that is an every game item that the opposition has to deal which has helped SSA win a lot of games.
