Grassroots Spotlight on COMI-TNT 14U Squad

This talented group of 2030s feature some of the top incoming freshmen in the middle of the state. <br></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Last weekend, they won the 14U championship at the Reebok World Championships at the Beal Center in Chesterfield.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Here is a look at the players on the COMO-TNT 14U (Goolsby) team who won the championship in St. Louis last weekend.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2991406' first='Jackson' last='Antweiler']: A 6'3" wing player who loves to attack downhill on the drive, but can also shoot it well from 3-point range. He is a three-level scorer who plays the game with a lot of toughness and intensity. He doesn't mind taking and making big shots in the big moments of close games.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>JB Banks: A 6'2" combo guard from Battle who plays with excellent pace and is very good at getting to the rim on the attack. He is a very good in iso situations with his nice handles and ability to create off the dribble. He is also a willing passer who distributes the ball and makes his teammates around him better.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>DJ Pittman: A 6'2" guard who has good length and athleticism. He is a capable three-level scorer who can really handle the ball and create his own offense off the dribble. He gets into the lane and can finish well in traffic. He is always putting pressure on the defense with his ability to attack. He can also pull up and hit the perimeter jumper if defenders back off him to guard against the drive.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Myrien Deal: A 6'3" forward from Hannibal who has a physical presence in the paint as a scorer and rebounder. He attacks the paint on the drive and he's equally tenacious as an offensive rebounder. He has a nice shooting touch around the basket along with a variety a moves inside. He is also an excellent ball handler who can lead the break and drop some nice dimes in the transition game.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Drake Payne-Pittman: A 6'0" guard from Fulton who took home Most Valuable Player honors from the tournament. He is a knock down shooter who can change the course of a game with his 3-point marksmanship. He has shooting range that extends well beyond the 3-point line. When he gets on a roll, his teammates do a good job of getting him the ball.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='3600519' first='Zaiden' last='Thomas']: A 5'10" combo guard from Battle who is a very good two-way performer with good speed and athleticism. He is an impact defensive player who usually takes on the assignment of the opposing team's top offensive threat.
