Charlie Hughes Showcase – Seven More Class of 2030 Names to Know

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The 21st annual IHSAA/IBCA Charlie Hughes Memorial Showcase tipped off on Friday. There were 210 teams competing across over 350 games between Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. and Sunday evening at 5:00 p.m. Prep Hoops Indiana had boots on the ground coverage the entire way from the opening tip until the final buzzer. One of the best parts about this annual event is getting a first look at the best incoming freshmen. However, Brown has been able to add to that backcourt firepower this summer as an incoming freshman. The 6'2" playmaker was dishing out assists in a pair of wins for North Central (Farmersburg) at the Charlie Hughes Showcase. He is also a capable shooter and very comfortable finishing at the end of his drives. Kitch is a highly skilled jump shooter with an impressive change of pace and pop of athleticism that he uses to create separation and elevate. The Huskies return an Indiana Junior All-Star, but otherwise were hit pretty hard by graduation. Adding Northern to backcourt equation should really help them out. He is a solid playmaker offensively and has flashed some really impressive defensive instincts. However, Pritchett Jr. has found his way in the varsity rotation right away as a rising freshman. He is an excellent ball handler with a ton of confidence off of the dribble. Pike has plenty of options in the backcourt, but they have trusted Pritchett Jr. as a playmaker when he is in the game. The addition of this incoming freshman will be a big part of that expected leap. Robbins is a legitimate 6'4"-6'5" wing that is very comfortable with the ball in his hands. His ball handling and passing abilities are very advanced for his young age. We were immediately very impressed when watching him at the Charlie Hughes Showcase. Sanderson has fit in nicely to the Penn High School backcourt. He helps take some ball handling and playmaking pressure off of their other star guards, can knock down open shots, and is one of the best perimeter defenders in the class.
