Rock Hill, S.C. — It is now time to shift our focus to the 12U Gold Division from the 2026 adidas Jr. 3SSB Boys National Championships.

Featuring 35 teams spread across 11 pools, the sixth-grade Gold Division brought together a talented group of young prospects from across the adidas circuit before the field narrowed during championship bracket play. The division was filled with skilled guards who consistently impacted games with their scoring ability, playmaking, pace, and overall feel for the game.

While each player found success in different ways, the five guards featured below stood out through their production, decision-making, and ability to help their teams compete at a high level. Here are five sixth-grade backcourt performers who earned recognition with their play at the 2026 adidas Jr. 3SSB Boys National Championships...

Murphy Carroll has improved his overall game over the past few months and that was visibly evident with his play at the Jr. 3SSB National Championships. Carroll finished with an average of 8.9 points on the weekend while helping lead D1 Minnesota to the 12U Gold Division semifinals. He was super comfortable with the ball in his hands and his improvements with his handle were noticeable throughout the weekend. His progression has translated to better playmaking, stronger decision-making and an overall better feel for the game. He always seems to be a step ahead of the action while making the right reads for his team and keeping his team organized offensively. It was one of the more encouraging performances we've seen from Carroll.

Aydin Garth was one of the most valuable players throughout the weekend at the Jr. 3SSB National Championships helping lead Hoosier Phenoms to the 12U Gold Division Title. The skilled lead guard controlled the tempo of the game and did a tremendous job running his teams offense from start to finish. He made several high-level moves off the dribble that allowed him to create separation while getting to his spots with ease. His shooting ability also gave him plenty of freedom offensively, as defenders had to respect him beyond the arc, which opened up driving lanes and made him even more difficult to contain. When it came to creating offense, few guards in the 2032 class were as effective or impactful as Garth was throughout the tournament.

Max Kwon gave Lightning Elite a steady presence in the backcourt throughout the Jr. 3SSB National Championships. He had a strong understanding of what his team needed from possession to possession, whether that meant setting up a teammate, pushing the pace, or looking for his own shot. Kwon was productive without forcing the action and consistently found ways to keep the offense moving. What stood out most was his feel for the game and the confidence he played with, as he seemed comfortable in any situation. His contributions may not have always been the loudest, but they were often some of the most important for Lightning Elite.

Christian Morrow was one of the more entertaining guards to watch in the 12U Gold Division at the Jr. 3SSB National Championships. He is a fast guard that puts pressure on the defense because of his ability to get downhill and create offense. He got past defenders regularly and turned that into points in a hurry. He played with confidence, stayed aggressive, and was a steady source of offensive production throughout the tournament. With his athletic tools and offensive skill set already showing promise, Morrow is a name that should continue to gain attention in the 2032 class as he develops.

Carter Singleton is another guard from the class of 2032 that is beginning to make a name for himself nationally and that was made clear at the Jr. 3SSB National Championships. He played a crucial role in his team's success as he always stayed involved in the action making an impact whenever the basketball was in his hands. He plays with high energy, showed an impressive feel for the game and always kept his team's offense flowing. On the defensive end, he was just as effective, competing with energy and making life difficult for opposing guards. His ability to contribute on both ends of the floor continues to stand out, and he is quickly developing into one of the more intriguing two-way guards in the 2032 class.

Stay tuned for more from Prep Hoops Next!
