We recently updated our 2028 class rankings in Virginia, adding over 25 names in a class that continues to get better it seems like every day. Here's a look at part one of the wings from the Northern VA area.

#1) Isaiah Carter | 6'6” SG | Highland

Carter has been a nationally ranked prospect since the moment he stepped into high school, and despite some early injuries and up-and-down play early in his career, he's having a massive summer showing why he already holds double digit high major offers. The 6'6” wing is built to play the game with long arms and he's a fluid athlete, he can really drill it from deep and works extremely well off the ball to make shots on the move, he can deck it and get to spots and create space, and he really has shown improvement as a rebounder and a defender as well.

#6) Ryan Bahr | 6'5” SG | Paul VI

Bahr was a big part of PVI's run to another WCAC championship, state championship and a runner-up finish in Chipotle, and while many say he's an even better baseball prospect he's emerging as one of the top wings in the DMV as well. The 6'5” wing is a prototypical “3-and-d” prospect as he is a lights out shooter from deep with good range, he can sit down and guard on the perimeter and jumps passing lanes, he can make plays for others and has a high IQ, and he does a lot of the dirty work to help his team as well.

#14) Connor Miles | 6'5” SF | Episcopal

Miles is part of an Episcopal squad that impressed a lot this past year and even more this past weekend at DMV Live, and he's shown a lot of improvement in the same way that the program has over the past few years. At 6'5” he has great positional size and a frame that will fill out nicely, he works well coming off screens and can drill it from deep, he has great feel and instincts on both ends of the floor, and he brings a lot of energy to his team as well.

#17) Aidan Acquah | 6'4” SF | Paul VI

Acquah has steadily rose in the depth charts with a PVI team that has been to back-to-back national championship tournaments, and he's shown a lot of improvement and continues to get more and more consistent. He has a great frame and is a good athlete who thrives in transition with his finishing ability, he's strong and physical in the paint as a defender and a rebounder, he is showing improvement in his ball skills on the perimeter, and he's a great connector who can play and guard multiple positions.

#18) Jayden Banks | 6'5” SF | Highland

Banks has been a player for Highland that has been on their very successful team over the past two seasons, and he's one of the more improved players we've seen in the DMV over that time. At 6'5” with long arms and a frame that should fill out he has all the physical and athletic tools to play at the next level, he uses his length to get deflections and challenge shots defensively, he slashes well and gets to the rim where he can finish at the rim, and he can knock down open shots as well.

#25) Malachi Lee | 6'2” SG | Westfield

Lee was a big part of Westfield's run to the VHSL Class 6 State Championship, and while he's more widely known as a high major wide receiver prospect he could also be a division one basketball recruit with his talent. He's a super physical and athletic guard who rebounds like he's a center, he's a very good defender who can guard almost any position on the floor, he's got great burst to get downhill and finishes well in traffic, and he can knock down open shots as well.

#27) Aiden Friend | 6'3” SG | SSSAS

Friend is coming off a good sophomore season where he was an integral part of SSSAS, and he's having a great summer with New World and looks like he's going to have even more of a role next year. The 6'3” wing is a highly skilled shot maker who can drill it from deep with range and on the move, he has a great feel for the game as he will pass up good shots for great shots, he's a good secondary ball handler who can get downhill and get to the line, and he has all the tools to be a lock down defender as well.
