The Midwest Showcase opened up on Friday at the Columbia Fieldhouse. Prep Hoops Missouri takes a look at some of the standout performers from Day 1 of the Showcase.

[player_tooltip player_id='2334909' first='Will' last='Powers'] (Westminster Christian): The 6'4" 2027 guard was on fire in the Wildcats first game of the afternoon. He scored 15 of his team's first 21 points and had more than 30 points by halftime. He was getting buckets from all three levels and it was all done in the flow of the offense. He hit a couple of 3-pointers that were beyond the volleyball line. His mid-range game was also on point and he did a nice job of creating space off the dribble with his handles and excellent footwork to get clean looks at the bucket. There were several Division I college coaches sitting along the baseline that got an eyeful of Powers going off.

[player_tooltip player_id='2919088' first='Balston' last='Brown'] (Brunswick): I've watched this 6'3' 2028 guard on the stream several times, so I was excited to see him in person for the first time. The Class 1 All-Stater was very impressive with his explosive athleticism and ability to cause matchup problems with his size and skill level. I was very impressed with his passing ability. He was setting up his teammates with some nice dimes while on the move. He was very unselfish. As a scorer, he was very dynamic around the basket with his ability to jump over defenders, whether he was posting up or attacking from the perimeter. He can also keep defenders honest by hitting the 3-pointer.

[player_tooltip player_id='2516118' first='Jason' last='Simmons'] (St Joe Benton): The 6'4" 2027 guard was impressive in the Cardinals' victory over St. Charles West. He has a feathery touch from 3-point range and his mid-range game was also working. On three consecutive possessions in the first half, he got to his spot and elevated over a smaller defender to knock down the 15 footer. He also reads defenses and cuts well off the ball to get layups in the offense. He is primed to have a big senior season as the No. 1 option next season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2528025' first='Sebastian' last='Bolden'] (Clayton): The 6'4" 2028 guard is a smooth scoring threat who can get a bucket from all three levels. He entered high school as an elite perimeter shooter, but he enters his senior year as a complete scorer. He attacks the basket well and he is not afraid to pay the price and take the contact in the lane. He was knocked to the floor multiple times on Friday, but he got up and made his free throws and attacked again. His handles are good and he also passes it well off the dribble to set up teammates when he faces an extra defender. He was also getting offensive rebounds and putbacks.

[player_tooltip player_id='2872951' first='Skyler' last='Jaegers'] (Helias): The 6'7" 2027 guard continues to grow in stature while his game continues to grow as well. With his ability to handle the ball and facilitate, he can grab the defensive rebound and take off on the dribble to lead the break himself. He can see over the defense well and me made some pinpoint passes to open teammates. He also shoots it well from 3-point range and he can also get to his spot and elevate over a smaller defender for a pull up jumper.

Josiah Harrington (North Scott, IA): The 6'7" combo forward from Iowa had a big performance in his team's victory over Lee's Summit. He has a nice combination of strength and athleticism, and he took advantage of both around the basket. He was a load when he started attacking downhill off the dribble. He was also a force on the offensive boards. He also ran the court hard to score in the transition game.

Keller Daugherty (Lee's Summit): The versatile 6'10 2027 forward is one of the top prospects in the state. He excels on the perimeter with his ball and handling and ability to shoot it from deep. He came off a screen in full sprint and knocked down a 3-pointer as if he were a smaller guard. He can also score in the post and take the bump and grind with his slender frame.
