RCS Sports Tune Up: Hoopers Up Next

This past Wednesday, we stepped into the building to scout out the RCS Sports pre TABC tune up presented by Jim Hicks. This event took place at Westfield High School and several different Houston area varsity squads came out to showcase their team chemistry on both Tuesday and Wednesday evening. Let's take a look at some of the "up-next" hoopers who caught my eye!    Cameron displayed ability to contribute to all stat categories for the Bulldogs in their win over GVA on Wednesday. Martin drove to the basket through multiple defenders and finished layups, getting himself to the foul line at a high rate. Explosive off the pick and roll, he keeps teammates involved and knows how to create his own shot. Cam can be effective from either guard slot and displays both effective scoring and playmaking ability.     One of the main guards on the Panthers, I was most impressed by Carter's drive and dish ability when attacking the paint. He could've shot a lot more than he did, but he was interested in keeping teammates involved and this resulted in multiple good looks for Kingwood Park from deep and midrange. Hamilton controls the pace of the offense well and can switch on and off from a fast paced to a slow and methodical tempo.     Brayden created multiple open jumpers for himself in the midrange and from the corner during Covenant's win over Cypress Park. Celestine gets to the basket with explosive agility and a quick first step and finishes efficiently. Brayden has active hands-on defense, and this allows him to play passing lanes, and notch steals to convert in transition. One of the more underrated 2027 hoopers in Houston, Brayden is looking to make a name for himself by playing hard and showcasing his talents throughout the summer with Team Blessed and into the fall with Covenant Prep.     [player_tooltip player_id='3681726' first='Trey' last='Nicholds'] is a force unleashed in the post and it is very apparent that he is bringing the intensity every game he steps on the court. Trey consistently comes away with second chance rebounds and displayed aggressiveness to dominate mismatches off post ups in the paint. Nicholds is not afraid to put his body on the line for loose balls and plays winning basketball.     [player_tooltip player_id='3603494' first='Kai' last='Harris'] showed in Pearland Dawson's game against St. Francis that he can beat defenders both on the interior and exterior. Harris can pull up off the dribble or drive to the basket against tough contact and get the bucket to go. His wingspan and height allow him to guard anyone on the court, as well as get down the court quickly on fastbreaks. One of the most intriguing prospects in 2028, I'm looking for Kai to continue his momentum throughout the summer and into the school year with Dawson.
