Phenom 252 Showcase: Saturday Mid-Day Standouts

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We made the trip to Rocky Mount this past weekend for the Phenom Hoops 252 Showcase at the Rocky Mount Sports and Events Center with a ton of talent from all around the State on display. Mitchell is a confident shot maker with the ability to connect from beyond the arc at a high volume. He also showed the ability to make plays for teammates and help run the offense efficently. Mitchell played a key role on a really successful JV team at Jordan last season and looks to have the makings of someone that can help this varsity squad next season as they have backcourt production to replace. Richardson is coming off of a really productive Freshman season at Northwest Halifax where he averaged 11.8 Points, 0.7 Assists, 10.3 Rebounds, 1.3 Steals, and 1.4 Blocks per game which is incredible. He was producing at a similar level this weekend and really shined on the defensive end as he can really guard multiple positions at a high level. Stokes helped Fireball 2029 to a 15u bracket championship at the 252 Showcase and was able to provide consistent production in the backcourt and give them a quality secondary playmaker. He is capable of playing either guard spot and does a nice job using his quick first step to get by the initial defender. In transition he uses his ability to finish in traffic with acrobatic layups in traffic with either hand. Lissow can finish over either shoulder with his jump hook along with providing quality mobility defensively for his size. Lissow makes himself available for dump offs on the interior where he finishes efficiently. He walls up defensively well, blocking and altering shots consistently throughout the game. He's a presence on the glass at both ends of the floor and after coming off of a solid productive season at Holly Springs next season, he'll be ready for a step up in role as he looks to make his case as a next level prospect. Jaztremski is coming off his Freshman season at First Flight where he showed a lot of promise and it appears he's improve considerably since the end of the high school season. Jaztremski is consistently above the rim with a natural instinct to run the floor in transition. He also possesses quality touch from beyond the arc off the catch and his length + athleticism combo allows him to attack closeouts with bad intentions. Defensively, Jaztremski is very versatile, capable of guarding multiple positions, and a very active disruptor in the gaps looking for steals.
