[player_tooltip player_id='3659537' first='Will' last='Zaudtke'] has been one of the biggest stock risers in the 2028 class. He's an extremely athletic and lanky wing who always seems to be in the passing lanes and getting easy transition opportunities. Will had multiple big dunks on the weekend and played with a lot of confidence. He was chosen as one of the top standouts at the Highfill Hoops x Assist Invitational. College coaches have been excited to get an early look at him and add him to their 2028 board. I fully expect him to have a big season for Glen Allen with his length, versatility on both sides of the ball, and his ability to knock down open shots.

Carlos shouldn't be a new name for most, as he is one of the top 2028 guards in the state. He seems to be everywhere playing in AAU events, at local camps, or he is in the gym putting in work. Carlos is an effective ball-handler and efficient scorer. What stood out to me most about him is his ability to handle pressure, get to his spots, and create for himself or others. He's the ideal combo guard and will be a major piece to a very talented North Cross team this year.

Cameron May is one of the players colleges are going to want to invest in early. He's a legit 6'7 wing who has great ball-handling skills, a great feel for getting to his spots, and he uses his length well on both sides of the ball. Every time I've seen him this summer, I have come away more and more impressed. He scored well at the event and showed he has the ability to play against anyone and hold his own. He rebounds well, can defend multiple positions, and is a lights-out shooter. He was the first player from the event to receive an offer as he got an offer to the Division 2 program Livingstone College. Events like this are ideal for hidden gems like him to get recognized and get his name out there.

[player_tooltip player_id='2194718' first='Justin' last='Golden'] is widely known in Richmond, but at this event, it was key for him to show his leadership capabilities, high-level defensive abilities, and playmaking capabilities. Justin is an effective shot maker who excels on or off the ball and was a big part of Henrico High School's team last year. As he continues to get older and expand his game, he will continue to be one of the more sought-after 2028 guards in VA and widely talked about for all the intangibles he brings other than just scoring. Justin is someone that coaches dream of having on their team to lead the show, as he never gets rattled and is always competing and leading his team.

Final Thoughts

In conclusion, the event showcased some of the top talent in the region, and it's easy to see why so many college coaches were there and raving about the event. The Highfill Hoops staff plans on having another event in September featuring more of the top players to help them prepare for their high school seasons.
