Club Hoops: Rising to the Moment

The spring club basketball season has had no shortage of defining moments, and a talented group of players from North Dakota and South Dakota have risen to meet them. When the lights are brightest and the competition is at its toughest, these hoopers have answered the call, delivering performances that have turned heads across the Dakotas and beyond.   In this edition of Club Hoops: Rising to the Moment, we're shining a spotlight on the players who haven't just shown up; they've shown out. Whether it's a clutch shot, a lockdown defensive performance, a night of elite playmaking, or simply the kind of consistent production that can't be ignored, these ballers have made the most of every opportunity this spring. Tracy was very impressive earlier this spring. Anthony always seems to be the fastest player on the hardwood; he thrives in transition. Tracy defends well, forces many turnovers, and creates going downhill off the bounce.     BWD showed out as a three-level scorer this spring. Brennan has a strong/solid basketball frame. He plays well around the rim and is a monster on the board. This Monarch is a baller to keep eyes on.     He was super impressive this spring with his athletic dunks and deadly three-point shooting. Richter is a solid defender; he can lockdown guard & forwards. Brody has an above-average vertical and is very strong for his age. His shooting range runs waaay deep and Richter is accurate. Brody drives, finishes, and elevates above the D for scores. He lets his jump-shot fly at the high-point off his fingertips; this kid is DIFFICULT to defend!     The young Cardinal is shining as a slasher. Peterson is very good at getting to the rim and is a capable set shooter. Cale hoops with a high motor, he is a do-it-all type of baller.     Hoffmann showcased impressive skill and basketball ability this spring. He has a quality basketball build and a well-rounded game. As he adds muscle, he will be a scary player. Drew defends well and has a great vertical. He has a soft scoring touch around the hoop and from the outside. Hofmann also runs the floor well in transition. He will be one of the best B players in ND next winter.     He caught my eye this spring asa gifted and talented shooter. Franks is a smooth athlete with cat-like quickness. Eli has tight handles and great ball control. He gets hot from deep and finishes well on the rim. Franks future looks bright.     Dykema had a strong spring with GriND, showcasing why he is one of the elite rebounders in the 2029 class. Garin is physical/strong/aggressive/athletic and he does great work attacking the basket. He is also tough on the block/in the post.     Grady is a sharpshooter with college-level range. He is a lanky guard with sneaky bounce that puts him above the rim. Hulscher recently had a game where he went off for 5 triples and also threw down a dunk, he finished that game with 25 points. Many of his 3-balls were from college range or deeper. This kid has game.     Johnson is an excellent shooter who creates his own looks. Gus has handles, he is a shifty slasher with a crafty finishing package. Johnson recently had a big game where he dropped 25-30 points. He drilled 6 triples and put up points impressively inside the arc. This Bulldog is a baller.     Recently picked up an offer from NDSU (also has an offer from UND). Khaliq does it all at a high level and he checks all the boxes with his length/athleticism/skill. Austin is a relentless and diligent worker; he is a gym rat. Khaliq can dominate at every level while also making real-time adjustments to help give his team an edge. He is a thief on defense, a momentum-changing dunker, a dynamite slasher, a skilled passer, and a long-range sniper.     Mac is a long floor general with impressive handles while finishing extremely well at the hoop. He is also very good at drawing fouls and getting to the FT-line. Bullinger has had a great spring, this kid is the real deal.     Steph is a hardworking, long, strong, physical, and explosive athlete. He is a BIG and the best part is, Booth wants to be an inside BIG! Steph is not afraid to bang inside and play physical basketball. He is a tireless rebounder on both ends, a versatile defender, a great help-defender, and an effective rim-protector. His footwork keeps improving and his shooting percentage continues to rise. Steph is no stranger to making coast-to-coast plays. He also throws down rim-rocking dunks on the regular. Booth hoops with a great attitude and is super coachable.
