Zero Gravity Stars And Stripes Classic: Impressive Underclassmen

The 6-foot-1 wing is EVERYWHERE on both ends of the court and does all the little things. He's a great rebounder for his size and is able to defend both guards and wings because of his lateral quickness and hands. Offensively, he has budding ball-handling skills and is a really solid passer. The 5-foot-9 guard has an awesome handle and really good quickness, so he's difficult to stop in transition. Once he touches the paint, he can really pass the rock—he had an amazing behind-the-back in transition—but is also able to finish against bigs. Quiles can make shots from three as well, though he needs to make his shot quicker. He's only a freshman, but at 6-feet and extremely sturdy, he's quite imposing. The lefty has incredible strength and is able to bully defenders under the rim whether it be for finishes or rebounds on the offensive end. He also has a surprisingly good handle in small spaces and a knack for spinning his way to the hoop. Defensively, he has awesome hands and can guard bigger players because of his strength and toughness. The 6-foot-1 guard is long, wiry, and super athletic with good coordination and hands. He threw down some dunks in transition, but he also has a solid handle and can get to his spots in the mid range for pull-ups. He's also an unselfish passer, a great rebounder for his size, and shows some pretty special flashes of skill and finishing ability. For his size (6-foot-3) and age, he has pretty phenomenal ball-handling ability and feel for the game. He's lethal in the pick and roll and is an excellent passer in both transition and half court situations. He just has a way of controlling the entire game and dictating what everybody on the floor is doing—he plays well beyond his years. Phanor isn't playing for the highest level AAU team in Team Saints, so I would be interested what he could do against bigger and more athletic defenders, but his feel for the game will translate quite well to the college game eventually. Though he's only 5-foot-9, he has a really good handle and a knack for using his off-hand to keep the defense off his hip. The sophomore consistently got to the rim and put the referees in difficult situations—he was a foul-drawing machine all Saturday. He certainly took some questionable shots, but he has great athleticism and is a relentless rim attacker. He also does a great job rebounding for his size and has active hands defensively.
