There's nothing quite like witnessing local players step up and dominate the weekend. We've identified several standouts who truly made their mark, and we'll be sure to spotlight them.

Beckham Welling, Alta High School

Welling is playing for the [program_tooltip program_id='2272999' first='Salt' last='Lake Rebels'] and is following in the footsteps of his two older brothers who have both made it to the D1 level. Hayden Welling had a great career and finished up his collegiate playing at Utah Valley University, while Carter Welling is making some major noise over at Clemson University. The one thing that Beckham has in common with his brothers is that he is a late bloomer, and the upside outweighs the risk with a player like him.

[player_tooltip player_id='2022332' first='Mana' last='Winitana'], Wasatch Academy

[player_tooltip player_id='2022332' first='Mana' last='Winitana'] has been a standout performer for the [program_tooltip program_id='2110367' first='Utah' last='Prospects'], averaging around 15 points per game in his first four games. His consistent play as a guard has made him a valuable asset within the EYBL circuit. Beyond his scoring, Winitana's ability to rebound the ball effectively sets him apart. This attention to detail and strong rebounding skills are highly regarded in the recruiting process, as they demonstrate his all-around basketball intelligence and commitment to the team.

Cooper Harris, Orem High School

Copper Harris, Orem High School, has been a standout for Utah Prime this grassroots season, and this weekend was no different. He is one of those rising, under-the-radar talents who will surprise you with his abilities. A complete guard, Harris can score with the best of them. He had a strong weekend with [program_tooltip program_id='2214029' first='Utah' last='Valley Prime'].

[player_tooltip player_id='1724367' first='Saxon' last='Young'], Lone Peak High School

[player_tooltip player_id='1724367' first='Saxon' last='Young'], Lone Peak High School, has been consistently impressive, and his growing attention is clearly boosting his confidence on the court. Witnessing him play, he exhibits a remarkable sense of freedom and flow, making it enjoyable to watch as he clearly is having fun out there.

[player_tooltip player_id='1724360' first='Ashton' last='Shewell'], Lehi High School

Shewell is coming off a 6A Volleyball State Championship and showed his skills in Memphis. He had a great performance against Team Final, leading his team with 19 points. He has demonstrated that he could be a big-time scoring threat, and there is some upside in his game. Look for him to continue to build on solid performances like this.
