The latest Alabama 2029 rankings update brought plenty of movement, and several young prospects made powerful statements with their performances over the past several months. Whether it was dominating on the grassroots circuit, stepping up in high school competition, or showing significant growth in their overall game, these players have positioned themselves firmly on the radar. Here is a closer look at several prospects whose stock is trending upward and who made some of the biggest jumps in the updated rankings.

[player_tooltip player_id='3493064' first='Cannon' last='Combs'] (6'10/PF/2029/Gardendale)

IG: cannon1.showtime

X: @Cannon1showtime

Few players in Alabama's 2029 class can impact a game physically the way Cannon does. Standing 6-foot-10, he immediately changes the geometry of the floor. His presence around the basket creates problems on both ends, and he continues to evolve beyond simply being a big body in the paint. He has soft hands, touch around the rim, and finishes through contact with impressive body control for a player his size. What makes Cannon especially intriguing is that he embraces physical play while also showing flashes of skill and feel. He rebounds at a high level, protects the paint, and consistently creates second-chance opportunities. With Denton Johnson taking over at Gardendale, Cannon will likely become the centerpiece of what the Rockets hope to build moving forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='3539957' first='Jermaine' last='Caver'], Jr. (6'0/CG/'29/Oxford)

IG: __junebug1

Jermaine has earned every bit of his rise from being unranked to the #9 ranked spot. During Oxford's championship run to the Blue Map, he wasn't simply along for the ride he played meaningful minutes and consistently delivered winning plays when his team needed them most. His ability to score from all three levels immediately stands out. He can knock down perimeter shots, attack gaps in the defense, and finish through traffic despite often facing bigger defenders. What really separates him, however, is the poise he plays with as he rarely looks sped up and consistently makes smart decisions with the basketball. Add in his willingness to defend, compete on the glass, and provide energy on every possession, and you have a guard whose impact extends well beyond the scoring column.

[player_tooltip player_id='2889576' first='Antonio' last='Anderson'] (6'4/CG/'29/Midfield HS)

IG: abp_.t2

X: @anderson2029t2

TikTok: sp2der.t2

Antonio brings versatility and skill to the floor. He can handle the rock, facilitate offense, attack the rim, rebound, and score from multiple levels. His ability to impact the game in so many different ways makes him a matchup nightmare for opponents. Smaller defenders struggle with his size, while bigger defenders often have difficulty containing him in space. Defensively, he has the length and versatility to guard multiple positions and disrupt opposing offenses.

[player_tooltip player_id='3654124' first='Charles' last='Wilson, III.'] (6'4/SF/'29/Pleasant Grove)

IG: c3buckets_10

One of the biggest revelations this spring has been Charles and while watching him this spring with SMB, it quickly became clear why so many people are excited about his future. He is a natural scorer with a smooth offensive package and a knack for creating points in a variety of ways. He is exceptionally difficult to stay in front of off the dribble and has the ability to create his own offense when plays break down. Once he finds his rhythm, he can put together scoring runs that completely change the flow of a game. What is exciting about Charles is that he is still scratching the surface.

[player_tooltip player_id='2889571' first='Michael' last='Gates'] (6'2/Wing/'29/Hoover)

IG: miketheglitch

Michael was one of the biggest beneficiaries of the updated rankings, and for good reason. His contributions during Hoover's run to the state championship game showcased exactly why his stock is climbing. While some players impact games through scoring alone, he consistently found ways to affect winning in multiple areas. His size, toughness, defensive intensity, and willingness to battle on the glass provided Hoover with valuable production throughout the season. He embraced physical play, defended aggressively, and showed flashes of offensive potential that suggest there is even more to unlock moving forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='3654123' first='Jorden' last='Horton'] (6'7/PF|C/'29/Athens)

IG: jorden_hoops33

X: @jordenhorton116

Jorden is the type of prospect that immediately catches your attention the moment he steps onto the floor. At 6-foot-7, his size alone creates major problems for opponents on the Puma circuit, but there is much more to his game than simply being bigger than everyone else. He possesses good hands, soft touch around the basket, and developing footwork on the low block. He plays with confidence in the paint and consistently punishes smaller defenders who simply do not have the size or strength to handle him. What makes him especially intriguing is how much room there still is for growth. He remains somewhat raw in certain areas, but that should excite college coaches rather than concern them. The foundation is already there. As he continues to develop his skill set, gain varsity experience at Athens, and spend time refining his game, his long-term potential becomes increasingly difficult to ignore.
