HS Summer League Preview: Northwest Conference

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>With the athletes going to their high school teams for the month of June, I thought I'd take a deeper dive into each conference for some players to watch.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>2027's:</em></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-[player_tooltip player_id='2835618' first='Blake' last='Elston'] - Squalicum - One of the most fundamental guards in the conference. Does a great job at getting to his spots and getting his shot off. Offense normally runs through him, so he does a great job at getting buckets and finding open teammates.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-[player_tooltip player_id='2182848' first='Quincy' last='Tanovan'] - Sehome - Quincy is a really solid lefty guard who has great speed and knows how to attack the bucket with either hand. He shoots at a very high percentage from deep, not being afraid to pull the trigger and let it fly.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-[player_tooltip player_id='2392727' first='Dawson' last='Hintz'] - Lynden Christian - The obvious best player in the league is back once again next season. He has a great shot from deep, hitting from the NBA range with ease. He finishes at the rim at a high level too, going through contact with a soft touch. He's a fun player to watch on the court. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-[player_tooltip player_id='2457277' first='Kaden' last='Veldman'] - Lynden Christian - The best big man in the NWC is back once again and ready to produce an MVP-like season. He dominates the paint, rebounding the ball with ease and being a player who is tough to coach against. He has expanded his offensive game nicely and is one of the best players in 1A. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em><strong>2028's:</strong></em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-[player_tooltip player_id='3356721' first='Houston' last='Wills'] - Ferndale - Houston is a fantastic offensive scorer with the ball, being able to score from all 3 level and do so at a high percentage. He does a great job adjusting his body after contact in the paint to still get the finish. He has a beautiful pull-up midrange shot too, being able to get his shot off with ease.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-[player_tooltip player_id='3356722' first='Tracen' last='Pazaski'] - Ferndale - One of the highest rising players in the 2028 class within the conference. He scores well by utilizing his speed, blowing by defenders to get to the bucket and finish at a high level with either hand. His shot from deep is reliable too, so players can't leave him open out on the perimeter. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-[player_tooltip player_id='2887289' first='Kingston' last='Collins'] - Mount Vernon - Kingston is one of the best bigs in the conference and plays at a high level. He dominates the paint, using his strength to get rebounds and out-body opposing players. He has a soft touch by the rim and knows how to get open shots using his smooth footwork. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
