Great Lakes Finals: Scotty B’s Top 2027 Illinois Prospects

The Lyons shooting guard erupted for 23 points in the opening game of the event.&nbsp; Shooting guard who we did not know about before was super impressive showcasing a well-rounded game.&nbsp; He drained a pair of early threes then went to work in transition putting his head down and getting to the rack finishing through contact.&nbsp; Scores within the flow of the offense in the half court.&nbsp; Scrappy rebounder who displayed he can defend on the perimeter as well.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2877543' first='Landon' last='Lethunya'] ([program_tooltip program_id='2078374' first='Full' last='Package'])</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Long and lanky four man from Lake Forest Academy shined in the first half of the game we caught.&nbsp; Super bouncy forward who is quick off the ground like a pogo stick!&nbsp; High points rebounds in traffic and played above the rim for multiple tip slams and a big dunk on a back cut.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Boti Szabo-Zsamba ([program_tooltip program_id='2078374' first='Full' last='Package'])</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Big bodied five man from Lake Forest Academy who is very intriguing with his massive height and size as an old school center that takes up space down low.&nbsp; Seals extremely well in the post and finishes with touch around the cup.&nbsp; Understands positioning and has nice footwork.&nbsp; Quality area rebounder.&nbsp; Good shot blocker as well.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2389398' first='Orlando' last='Edwards'] (88 West)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Edwards is a long and rangy wing who is primed for a big season at West Aurora.&nbsp; The 6'3” shooting guard can also play a little on the ball at times.&nbsp; The athleticism, slick handles, and winning off the bounce are what really stood out in their game on Friday night.&nbsp; Southpaw hits the hole hard getting to the rack with burst.&nbsp; Explosive second jump to the offensive glass for second chance points.&nbsp; Got out in the open floor off his defense for scores in transition.&nbsp; Flashed as a shooter, but needs to be more consistent with it.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2431475' first='David' last='Udoiwod'] (88 West)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It was a quiet first half for the Geneva scoring point guard, but he got it rolling in the second half.&nbsp; Quick guard off the bounce that gets in the lane.&nbsp; Really like the burst on his first step getting to the rack.&nbsp; Active hands on the defensive end!&nbsp; Should find a nice home at the small college level.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2403987' first='Charles' last='Rieger'] (Big 3)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Rieger is a 6'3” shooting guard from Timothy Christian.&nbsp; Got to the rim with his strength and skill handling it through traffic on straight line takes.&nbsp; Consistently attacked the rack where he either scored or got to the foul line.&nbsp; Liked how he was consistently in attack mode.&nbsp; Mixed in some post ups, one deep ball, and was solid defensively including swatting a three point attempt.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2409249' first='Jonathan' last='Ocampo'] (Big 3)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Ocampo is a new name that emerged from West Chicago.&nbsp; The point guard plays with excellent pace.&nbsp; We were impressed with how the guard changed gears being able to push as well, but also slow it down for crafty moves when needed.&nbsp; Went end to end with slick handles and was nifty converting in the paint.&nbsp; Solid passer and decision maker.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2440418' first='Cooper' last='Pozzi'] ([program_tooltip program_id='2956191' first='Slam' last='City Elite'])</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Rockford Guilford lead guard has solid size at 6'1” and is a quality passer off live dribbles.&nbsp; Made nice dishes in the drive and kick game.&nbsp; Sweeping layups on takes to the cup along with getting to the line.&nbsp; Solid shooter from three as well.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2831286' first='Nathan' last='Ottaway'] (All-In Athletics)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>McHenry 6'6” post had a breakout weekend including the game we saw him in their Saturday game as the big man went to work down low.&nbsp; Soft touch and footwork on the block, turnaround jumpers, quick hook shots, and can really pass it as a small college big man prospect.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
