Bash in the Desert: All 17U 5th Team

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I&nbsp;attended the annual Prep Hoops AZ&nbsp;<strong>Bash in the Desert</strong>&nbsp;at the Phhacility in Phx May 1-3. I viewed nearly every team in the 17U division and came up with nine all-17U Teams.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Here is the 5th team</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2364991' first='Miles' last='Cooper'] College Park/CA (Oakland Soldiers 16 EYBL)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>An unselfish point guard who can also score it. The southpaw has advanced court vision and will spray the ball around to his teammates with up the court finds and touch the paint and see a cutter. He really is a natural shooter from the three point line with a pretty stroke and he has quick hands on defense.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='3625575' first='Jack' last='Durney'] Campo Verde (BC Hoops 17) (Pictured) </strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A strong framed power forward who rebounds well and can face up. He uses his sturdy frame to bang inside versus taller player and will push out his opponents and understands where to be and will box them out. He will score with layups, step out and hit the three and he made a clutch free throw with under 20 seconds.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1555181' first='Adrian' last='Higuera'] Millennium (Vegas Elite 17 EYBL)&nbsp;</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A pure point guard always seems to be in control of his surroundings. He will throw some needle threaders to his teammates and drive and kicks. He plays with a nice pace to his game. He will score with threes off the catch, middy pull-ups, which is one of the best in the class and he is starting to get more athletic as he almost had a poster dunk on the break that wowed the crowd.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2194481' first='Justin' last='Kimbrough'] Mountain Pointe (Oakland Soldiers 16 EYBL)&nbsp;</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A quick on quick pure point guard is an elite passer. He will blow past his initial defenders and then dime it to a teammate with perfect timing and precision. He has really quick hands on defense to disrupt the opposing lead guards and he will score it. He loves to burst past his defender and score and had that mid-range clicking per usual.  </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Ryder Malm 6'10 2026 Tennessee Prep (Vegas Elite 17 EYBL)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A big man who attends a prep school has legit size, some athleticism, girth and a lot of skill. He will score it with dunks, threes off the catch and offensive rebounds put backs with good positioning. He can get hot from the perimeter and shows upside.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Jalen Parker Spire Institute/OH (Vegas Elite 16 EYBL)&nbsp;</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A bigger guard/wing was a perfect piece for the EYBL team off the bench. He is extremely unselfish and moves the ball like you should and threw some nice pocket passes to make a plays and will score. He will score with downhill takes and threes off the catch.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2855919' first='Tyce' last='Pribyl'] Sandra Day O'Connor (Foundation First 17 James)&nbsp;</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A scoring guard is steadily improving his game. He will score with threes off the catch with a good looking stroke and he will battle inside to rebound and score on put backs. He collected steals that led to assists as an unselfish teammate.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2559538' first='Notorious' last='Street'] San Tan Charter (UH Elite 17 Gold)&nbsp;</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A jet quick lefty defensive point guard. He has quick hands and feet to keeps his opponents in front of him and he will facilitate and score. He will score with threes off catch and will burst into the paint to score in traffic.&nbsp;He brings a motor to every game he plays. &nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
