AOG’s Cactus Classic Battle of the Brands All-Tourney Fifth Team

From Saturday April 25th to Sunday April 26th i was able to attend the AOG's Cactus Classic Battle of the Brands in Phoenix Arizona at The PHHacility.   I was able to view 6+ games a day and over 10 Teams through the 2 days. I seen the talent pool from 17U-15U from multiple different shoe circuits. Players mentioned are only from the teams I viewed and assessed from the 1to 3 times I seen them play.   I Put the players in 6 top teams of 6 players each. He impressed me with his great court vision and unselfishness constantly making the extra pass or hitting cutters. He uses his sneaky athleticism to get pass defenders and hit a beautiful floater in the middle. He is a great spot up shooter and can get hot from the three. Defensively he has amazing hands and lateral quickness making him hard to get around. He got multiple steals all three games i seen him play. David will make a impact with a high level basha squad this upcoming year.     Benji is a smooth shooter with a improved handle on the ball. One of the best shooters in his class made him self a lot more dangerous with his ball handling improvements and ability to score off the dribble. He impressed me with the separation he created with his footwork and dribble moves allowing him to create high level shots. He also will find shooters when he draws multiple defenders making the right play and showing off his high IQ. Defensively he is a pest with his length and great stance. Benji is looking to make a impact on a top 2 team in AZ next year and make a name for him self.     Alex is a thicker framed player with great athleticism and ability to play off ball. He was able to get it going from the corner on catch and shoot threes or back door cuts that lead to nasty two handed jams. He is a great cutter and has a high IQ when it comes to spacing on the offensive end. When he gets to the bucket he is not afraid to use his body against weaker defenders and will take advantage of them in the paint. Alex is one of the better players in Tucson and showed why against solid talent that play on top circuits.     Matt is a 3&D athlete with a solid handle and High IQ. Matt is a great spot up shooter and will always find the open windows in the defense. He hit 4 threes in one game on great shooting efficiency. He uses his shooting ability to pump fake and get to the rim where he will try to dunk it or just finish strong. He plays great off ball and will often set picks and will pop to the three or cut hard to the rim. Defensively he is very versatile with his athleticism and size showing he can guard the 1-4 four and making him self a essential to have on the court.     Josh is a high IQ pass first point guard that plays his game. Josh was a very calm and under control player that thrived with the ball in his hand. He makes great reads and decisions with the ball often leading to points. Josh scores when he needs to and can get to the lane looking to hit a nice floater or throw a dime to a big man in the dumpers spot. A pass first player is hard to come by in todays game and was a breath of fresh air when i seen him play.     Izaiah is a super quick point guard the can set up teammates for easy buckets. His ability to draws defenders with his natural speed opens up the game for his teammates especially shooters. He has great vision and can run the offense effectively. He also is a threat from deep and able to extend his range out to the NBA line. He is a great transition plyer and will constantly push the ball keeping the defense on there toes. Izaiah thrives next to shooter and athletic cutters making the game easier for them.
