Our updated class of 2027 rankings in Southern California featured a good amount of movement, including 43 new additions and a number of prospects who played their way into major stock-rising bumps up the board. In this piece we break down the players who trended upward in the Top 50.

[player_tooltip player_id='2307230' first='Cisco' last='Munoz'] | La Mirada | Previous: 86 | New: 30

When it comes to crafty and high IQ point guard play, Munoz is among the best in the region. The 5-foot-11 junior is patient when diagnosing ball screens and has impeccable decision-making feel on when to score or create for others in those situations. Munoz is a timely and accurate passer who can also drain mid-range and three-point shots off the bounce. His stellar season helped the Matadores earn a league title and CIF Southern Section Open Division playoff berth and made him one of our biggest stock-risers of the update as he jumped 56 spots.

[player_tooltip player_id='2436259' first='Zaire' last='Rashaan'] | Damien | Previous: 50 | New: 32

Rashaan is one of the best pure shooters in California and his ability to stretch the floor to three off the catch, off the bounce and when moving without the ball made him a lethal half-court and transition scoring threat. The 6-foot-2 shooting guard knocked down 152 three-point shots during his junior season and connected at a 40 percent clip. The value Rashaan provides with his perimeter offense led us to elevating him 18 spots.

[player_tooltip player_id='2436275' first='Maxwell' last='Scott'] | Corona del Mar | Previous: 41 | New: 38

Scott received a small but significant bump that earned him a spot in the Top 40, which usually translates to a low major Division 1 level of recruitment. The 6-foot-3 shooting guard is among the best spot and movement shooters that we have in Southern California and his downhill attacking and finishing abilities improved this season, as well. Scott led the Sea Kings to an impressive 27-4 record and an appearance in the CIF-SS Open Division playoffs - the first ever at Corona del Mar.

[player_tooltip player_id='2435364' first='Nickon' last='Daei'] | Crespi | Previous: 44 | New: 39

Daei is an under-appreciated player - both regionally and in the state - because while he might not do a ton of flashy things on the floor, he's rock solid as a decision-maker and a high-level competitor. The 6-foot-3 point guard organizes his team's offense, defends his position with toughness, and does the little things - 50-50 balls and takes charges - that helps his team win. Daei moves into the Top 40 at No. 39.

[player_tooltip player_id='2647209' first='Daniel' last='Wol'] | [player_tooltip player_id='2763310' first='Rancho' last='Christian'] | Previous: 60 | New: 40

Wol put together a strong junior campaign after missing much of his sophomore season due to transfer and injury and has been making a statement playing this spring with Gamepoint on the 3SSB Circuit. Wol, a 6-foot-8 forward, has wing skills that allow him to stretch the floor to the three-point line and can drive closeouts and score at the rim with his quick-twitch and explosive vertical athleticism. Wol made a significant jump from No. 60 to No. 40.

[player_tooltip player_id='2436276' first='Grayson' last='Coleman'] | Milken | Previous: 49 | New: 45

Coleman is just a guy that makes things happen. His confidence and savvy as a scorer and shot-maker are evident on the ball or off of it and his passing and playmaking instincts as a primary ball handler progressed tremendously over the course of the high school and spring club ball seasons. He's not the biggest or most physical guy on the floor but he brings a combination of toughness, savvy and leadership that impacts winning.

[player_tooltip player_id='2194707' first='Jordyn' last='Houston'] | La Mirada | Previous: 51 | New: 46

Houston is an intriguing next-level prospect as his combination of size, physicality and perimeter shooting ability are in the mold of a modern “stretch-four” archetype. The 6-foot-7 wing/forward is best in spot-up situations where he can punish over-helping defenders with his off-catch three-point shooting and he can take smaller defenders into lane and use his physicality to power through contact and finish at the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id='2436271' first='Terron' last='Williams'] | Bishop Montgomery | Previous: 117 | New: 47

Williams is trending up as a dirty work a glue-type prospect as his combination of physicality, motor and understanding of how to use those traits to impact winning stands out as his next-level role. Williams is a burly wing/forward who seeks out and scores through contact and has some face-up skill and shooting ability in his arsenal, as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2916714' first='Mattai' last='Carter'] | Loyola | Previous: 80 | New: 48

Carter is one of the region's best basketball athletes. The 6-foot-3 wing has elite vertical explosiveness and is effortlessly quick when leaving the floor for above-the-rim finishes. Carter is aggressive in transition and attacks the rim with purpose on the break. His combination of length and lateral speed make him one of the more intriguing defensive prospects in the class.
