The Jayhawk Jam X Factor Guards

These players proved to be true X-factor pieces at the Jayhawk Jam, impacting games in ways that don't always show up in box scores but absolutely showed up on the floor. [player_tooltip player_id='2831748' first='Jamaal' last='Garrett']'s speed and rim pressure, Cash's playmaking ability, Frankie's high-IQ decision making, and Myles' relentless defensive energy all gave their teams a different edge throughout the weekend. Each of them changed the momentum of games in their own way—whether it was creating easy buckets, generating turnovers, controlling tempo, or making the right read at the right time. [player_tooltip player_id='2831748' first='Jamaal' last='Garrett'] is a small, quick guard who consistently puts pressure on the defense with his speed and control. He excels at getting downhill, using his first step and change of pace to beat defenders off the dribble and attack the rim. Despite his size, he finishes effectively in traffic by using body control, angles, and touch, often slipping past bigger defenders or absorbing contact to convert at the basket. His ability to penetrate and collapse the defense makes him a constant threat and opens up opportunities for both himself and his teammates. Cash was a big-time playmaker at the Jayhawk Jam, consistently controlling the pace and making winning reads for his team. He showed a strong feel for the game, breaking down defenses with his dribble penetration and finding open teammates in the right spots. Whether in transition or in the half court, Cash kept defenders on their heels with his ability to create advantages and stay composed under pressure. His passing vision stood out throughout the event, and he made it clear he can impact the game in multiple ways beyond just scoring. Frankie stood out all weekend with his high basketball IQ and ability to stay one step ahead of the defense at all times. He consistently made smart reads, anticipating plays before they developed and putting his [program_tooltip program_id='2962972' first='Kruse' last='Elite'] team in the best position to succeed. Whether it was making the extra pass, recognizing mismatches, or controlling the tempo, Frankie's decision-making helped everything run smoothly. His awareness on both ends of the floor gave his team stability and confidence, and his impact was a key reason [program_tooltip program_id='2962972' first='Kruse' last='Elite'] had such a successful weekend. Myles is a scrappy, high-energy guard who consistently creates havoc on both ends of the floor. He applies relentless pressure, whether he's picking up full court defensively or attacking gaps on offense. His toughness and activity force opponents into mistakes, speeding up their decision-making and disrupting their rhythm. Myles doesn't need plays run for him to make an impact—he thrives off effort, loose balls, and creating extra possessions for his team. His constant pressure sets the tone and makes him a difficult matchup every time he steps on the court.
