PH Midwest Showdown: 15U Division 1st Team

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Prep Hoops circuit was in Appleton, WI on Friday and Saturday playing host to the circuits first stop in Wisconsin at the Midwest Showdown. I got to see all 21 teams compete in the 15U division with some guys even playing up a notch from the 2030 class. The following is the list of the 1st Team 15U division selection. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Point Guard - [player_tooltip player_id='2403309' first='Demarion' last='Cooley'] - All Wisconsin (4-0, Division A 1st Place) <br>DC is a gamer that gets the job done as my starting point. Loves the essence of the game in tight situations and makes the extra hustle play. Has quick hands and feet with a great feel. He's the type of tough point guard that coaches are lucky to have. Team went 4-0 on the weekend with him having the majority of the handling responsibility. <br><br>Shooting Guard - Cam Folts - All Wisconsin (4-0, Division A 1st Place) <br>Folts can not only play in multiple phases of the game but had one of the biggest motors I saw this weekend. He didn't wear down even when the game was tight or team was down. Fought tooth and nail to earn last win of day on Saturday and came up with winning plays. Can handle if need be and can score it from all 3 levels on zero gap pressure. Really tough challenge to guard. <br><br>Shooting Forward - Jacob Del Castro - Rise Above (3-1, Division A 2nd Place)<br>Castro can stroke. He is the definition of a proto typical 3 man that can catch and shoot quickly on the primary break phase or in the ½ court setting. Long arms with a confident demeanor. In the game I saw he knocked down 5 3's within flow and made it look simplistic doing so.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Power Forward - Jack Thornton - [program_tooltip program_id='2075258' first='ABC' last='Young Lions'] (3-1, Division B 2nd Place)<br>Thornton's length, versatility, and toughness puts him as my starting power forward. He has plus wingspan that he utilizes on both ends. His athletic ability and quick anticipation gives an edge from the start and he utilizes these tools really effectively. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Center - [player_tooltip player_id='2821845' first='Malik' last='Martin'] - MPLS Young Hustlers (3-1, Division B 3rd Place) <br>Malik is at the top of the list for the 2029 class in Minnesota for a reason. He is a true 6'8 with hands and feet to compliment. I watched the big fella in 2 out of his 4 games this weekend and even though he tweeked an ankle in the early afternoon game on Saturday, he still played in the team's final game of the day. Plenty of blocks with good verticality and a strong offensive demeanor.
