Rare Elite 16u Wins Sunday Morning

I opened the final say of this competition covering Rare Elite 16u in their matchup against [program_tooltip program_id='3581271' first='Queens' last='Defenders']. It was a dominant showing all around for rare elite as they took care of business on both ends. They started off the campaign with a 25-10 run. Much thanks to the dominant presence of #34 (no name given). Utilizing his far superior length to get tons of easy buckets while also getting out and running in transition. As the game progressed, we saw some elite ball movement from a string of guards in the backcourt as almost every bucket for a long stretch came off an assist. Eventually holding on for a 20-point win to start the morning.

Tribestarz Downs NY Select

This was my first look at Tribestarz and my second look at NY select. It was a great game in the early going. #34 showed tons of quickness and verasitlithy all over the floor and found a handful of early buckets for Tribestarz. But I was just as impressed with the interior play from their center, EJ Ukaegbu. On the other end, it was [player_tooltip player_id='3481064' first='Noah' last='Charles'] who brought a ton of energy for NY select. making plays both as a defender and playmaker in transition. Ukaegbu eventually stretched out for a 3-pointer to give Tribestarz a solid halftime cushion. Something that wouldn't go away as this contest continued later on, as guard [player_tooltip player_id='2234316' first='Jonathan' last='Walker'] started to get going. Showcasing an acrobatic finish attacking the rim and adding a three-pointer above the break. Tribestarz held on for a 62-41 win.

Ny Select Kel Erases Early Deficit

I finished the morning covering [program_tooltip program_id='3581271' first='Queens' last='Defenders'] 16u Damien facing New York Select Kel. [program_tooltip program_id='3581271' first='Queens' last='Defenders'] had the fast start headline by some solid guard play from Brandon Yabukov. He showed crafty ball skills in the open floor which included an and-one conversion. Another guard, [player_tooltip player_id='2960382' first='Jayden' last='Montesdeoca'], displayed tremendous passing abilities as the game went on. Even flashing a no-look assist at one point while getting in your face while defending on the ball. But Ny Select didn't go away and cut the lead to 3 points before halftime. The game remained close for much of the second half. Eventually seeing NY select take a 39-38 lead for a portion of this contest. The two exchanged the lead back and forward a little longer before NY Select came through at the end.
