The Commonwealth Basketball Group was back with another event this past weekend, featuring some of the top teams from all over the state of VA. Here's a look at six of the top 16U and 15U standouts at the event.

Quinn Combs | 6'1” WG | Team Richmond 16U

Screenshot

Combs was the star player on Midlothian JV this past season, but he showed he can flat out hoop and has a bright upside moving forward. The 6'1” wing has great fundamentals and understands the game to make the right play consistently, he is a dead eye shooter from deep with a quick release and he understands spacing to stay open, and he gives great effort on both ends of the floor too.

Chris Harris | 6'1” PG | Team Richmond 16U

Harris was a standout at Midlothian this past season as their starting point guard, and from what his coaches tell me he's exploring reclass options which would allow him to continue to grow and get stronger. He's a super talented guard who has good quickness and is shifty off the bounce, he changes speeds well and has great burst to get by defenders, he creates space and makes tough shots from multiple levels, and he makes good decisions and makes his teammates better as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2767487' first='King' last='Bacot'] | 6'2” PG | [program_tooltip program_id='2226307' first='Team' last='Loaded VA'] 15U

Considered by many as one of the top prospects in the 2029 class in the country, Bacot continues to show progressions in his game that shows he's nowhere near his peak as a prospect. At 6'2” he continues to grow into his body and is getting more explosive, he has tremendous feel for a player his age as he can control the game with his pace and deliver a lot of different passes on the money, he scored the ball well from all three levels off the bounce, and he flat out shows how much better he is than players his age.

[player_tooltip player_id='3538906' first='Niles' last='Mason'] | 6'5” F | [program_tooltip program_id='2226307' first='Team' last='Loaded VA'] 15U

Mason is coming off a big freshman season at Steward where he was one of the best young players in Richmond, and that continues to show with Loaded in the early AAU season. The 6'5” hybrid forward showed his high motor and physicality getting to the rim and playing through contact, he attacked the glass on both ends of the floor, he really thrived in the open floor with his ability to run with guards, and his ability to guard multiple positions is impressive for a player his age.

Eli Quaye | 5'10” PG | Local Legends NXT 15U

Quaye had a good freshman season at LC Bird, and as he continues to grow he's got a chance to be a very good prospect as he's well beyond what most guards his age are as far as skillset. He can really boogie as he has a tight handle and can break defenders down off the bounce, he is crafty as a finisher at the rim and in the midrange, he can knock it down from deep consistently, and he has great feel as a playmaker and a defender too.

Jordan Quaye | 5'9” WG | Local Legends NXT 15U

The other Quaye may not be where Eli is yet, but he's another LC Bird prospect to keep an eye on as he continues to grow and develop. He showed his ability to make shots at a very high clip and already has effortless range, he can play both on and off the ball and he makes the right play consistently, and he plays with a lot of toughness and a high motor on both ends.
