Bayou Battleground: Standouts Emerge from High-Stakes Tournament

When over 150 teams converge on a single location, it becomes a proving ground for the hungry and a showcase for the established. The West Monroe Complex transformed into a basketball hotbed this past weekend, drawing talent from across the country. For every well-known veteran who used their experience to impress the numerous scouts in attendance, there was a new, fresh face who seized the opportunity in the bright lights to make a name for himself. The action was intense, the competition was fierce, and several players from Monroe, LA, left a lasting impression. Here are some of the standouts.    [player_tooltip player_id='2389941' first='Kellen' last='Cash'] was one of the most impressive shooters of the weekend. If he can see goal, he can get the shot off. He has a smooth game, and takes what the offense gives him. He is efficient and constantly moves without the ball. He is aggressive on both sides of the ball and plays the game with great pace. He is a visible High IQ player that does not make basketball mistakes. He is a steady and skilled player with a bright summer ahead of him.      [player_tooltip player_id='3588364' first='Micah' last='Turner'] is a skilled fundamental player with a solid skill set and a strong frame. Turner plays the smart game and scores where he is needed. He is an efficient shooter and glue guy with more to give to the game. He has the size and athleticism to be an impact threat, and it will be interesting to see how his game grows this summer. If he lets his shot fly, and trusts his game, he could be dangerous.      [player_tooltip player_id='2532081' first='Caden' last='Levingston'] was impressive all weekend doing whatever he wanted with the ball whenever he wanted to do it. The shifty guard is a true three level scorer with unlimited range on his three ball. Sometimes you find a player that you can watch because of his basketball imagination, and Levingston is that type of player. He has a facilitating spirit, but is the type of player you want to see take over a game just to see what else he has in his bag. There is not much on the court this kid can't do. Levingston is worth the price of admission and a bright Louisiana talent.     Clark is an impressive prospect, with a lot that he can do on the court. He is an elite three-point shooter, but he also has a great understanding of the game. As a Freshman Varsity starter, he already has on court experience, and he looks to be built for big moments. Clark is one to watch in the gaurd heavy 2029 class, but he has the skills and mentality to make a splash in the rankings and earn a name this summer.     Aranda is one of those players that when you watch him play, he is just impressive. He has a raw element to his game that makes him unpredictable, but exciting to watch. He is deceptively athletic, a trusted mid range shooter and can knock down the three. On top of all that, he is just a motor on the court. He gets rebounds, tips, loose balls and everything in between. He is one of the states best for a reason, and his game will surely travel across state lines this summer.
