Prep Hoops Missouri was in Columbia last weekend to take in the action at the Battleground for the Zou event. Our primary mission was to watch the girls teams in the event, but we were also able to get a look at the [program_tooltip program_id='2075324' first='Brad' last='Beal Elite'] 2030 boys team in the process. They were playing against the Porter Basketball Academy 14Us from Columbia.

BBE is a very talented and athletic group that also played with excellent chemistry for just having been together for a couple of weeks. They should be one of the top teams on the Jr. EYBL circuit. Here is a look at some of the Missouri players on BBE and PBA that caught our eye.

Scotty Simpson: A 6'3" guard from Mid-Missouri who I first saw at the Pep Fall League in October. He is a smooth offensive player with explosive athleticism and a nice feel for the game. He really turned some heads when he executed an "East-Bay" dunk in-game, where he put the ball between his legs in mid-air before slamming it down. He will attend Father Tolton.

Thomas Butler: A 6'1" point guard who has all the elements to be a standout floor leader. He sees the court well, distributes the ball and he can also create his own offense. He is very shifty with a quick first step on the bounce. He is a talented shot-maker from the perimeter. He will attend Principia.

Cameron Murkey Jr: A 6'2" guard who is a high-flyer who really plays above the rim. When he wasn't throwing down alley-oops dunks, he was swooping in for offensive rebounds and putbacks. Both of his parents were standout hoopers in St. Louis, so he gets his talent honestly.

[player_tooltip player_id='2886601' first='Darnell' last='Clay']: A 6'5" forward who has a long lively body with excellent athleticism to go along with that wingspan. He runs the court well and he plays above the rim. He will be attending Principia.

Drew Paulson: A 6'10" center who has a big body and who knows how to use it to get position down in the low post. He keeps the ball high and finishes well. He also steps out and hits the 3-pointer off the catch. His development is just getting started, so we'll be definitely watching him in the future.

******

PBA 14U

Tyson Minnix: A 6'4" wing player who has good positional size and a nice feel for the game. He handles the ball well and he can knock down mid-range jumpers with good elevation. His two older brothers, who both played and play for Rock Bridge are in the 6'7" to 6'8" range. If Tyson follows suit, he will be one of the top prospects in the class.
