Earlier this week we published the updated 2026 rankings. Here are 6 of the Fastest Stock Risers from Class 3A-1A:

Kaleb Atencio, Penasco: Penasco hasn't had a winning season since 2021-22, so Atencio's accomplishments have largely gone unnoticed. But MaxPreps lists nine seniors who averaged 20 or more points in 2025-26, and Atencio is one of them. He excelled in several categories as he averaged 20.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 4.5 steals per game for the Panthers.

[player_tooltip player_id='2175829' first='Dylan' last='Lansing'], Navajo Prep: Lansing emerged as one of the top scorers in the Four Corners, averaging 14.1 points and 2.9 steals per game in leading Navajo Prep to the District 3A-1 regular season title and a spot in the state tournament quarterfinals. Career 1,000-point scorer.

[player_tooltip player_id='2715962' first='Urijah' last='Martinez'], Cimarron: Martinez was one of the top Class 1A players for a couple of seasons. This past campaign, he led Cimarron to the 1A semifinals by averaging well over 20 points per game. He scored 42 points in a win over Springer in late January. New Mexico Highlands and Sterling College are two of his four offers.

[player_tooltip player_id='2827261' first='Dillan' last='McCoy'], St. Michael's: As a junior in 2024-25, McCoy averaged about 8 points and 3 rebounds per game for the Horsemen. This season, he made a major jump in his production. The Class 3A state championship game sums up his season nicely: 20 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals. The 6-foot-3 McCoy had a key role on a deep and talented ST. Michael's that rolled to the 3A title.

[player_tooltip player_id='2175827' first='Alex' last='Starr'], Bosque: While the 6-foot-5 Starr didn't receive the acclaim of some of his Bosque teammates, he was a solid contributor in helping lead the Bobcats to the 3A semifinals. He was a reliable scorer, rebounder and defender. He did a lot of the dirty work underneath the basket.

[player_tooltip player_id='2827325' first='Trajen' last='West'], Rehoboth Christian: If there was a breakout player in this year's Class 2A state tournament, it was West. He first led a remarkable comeback from a 20-point halftime deficit as Rehoboth Christian stunned Mesa Vista in overtime. West scored 26 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in that win. A few days later, he scored 23 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and handed out 6 assists in the state championship game. When he was taken out of the game late in the fourth quarter, the large Rehoboth Christian contingent at the Pit showered him with a deserved large ovation.
