Coaches across the nation are prioritizing players who can consistently steal the ball. The transfer portal has created instability, making it valuable to identify low-maintenance freshmen who are willing to contribute and become reliable stealers. Below is a list of a few players who embody these qualities.

#44 [player_tooltip player_id='1969236' first='Bodie' last='Dodge'], Highland

Dodge recently committed to Green River CC, and this kid is a steal. He has that downhill attack game, and he can keep it simple, but he can also use his wiggle to get free. He is a player who exemplifies the take what the defense gives you saying. Dodge is a 6'1 athlete who can be on the ball and off the ball. He will be a great fit right away over at Green River.

#63 [player_tooltip player_id='2840878' first='Collin' last='Hansen'], Alta

Hansen is a big-time steal. He brings so much upside to the table. He has the athleticism and the strength to defend bigger players. We were able to see him and his full arsenal in the playoffs, mainly against Bountiful, where he was among the best players on the floor regardless of team and size. He has a good shot, he has wiggle, and he can attack the rim.

#92 [player_tooltip player_id='2861636' first='Daniel' last='Sunkuli'], Northridge

Sunkuli showcased his impressive shooting ability this year, hitting 50 three-pointers while averaging 15 points per game. He played a crucial role in his team's competitive performance against challenging opponents. As a 6'0" scoring guard, his skill and potential make him an attractive prospect, particularly for smaller colleges. NWAC schools and D3 programs might show significant interest in his talents.

#118 [player_tooltip player_id='1598267' first='Tengis' last='Bayasgalan'], Cottonwood

Tengis was a part of a really good trio. He managed to score 10 PPG on a solid team, and this kid is one of the most underrated shooters. Mainly because the scoring had to be spread out between three players, and oftentimes he was assisting, but he can shoot, and that is a quality that you need to take into account as you are looking for a lead guard at the next level. Tengis could be a really good pick-and-roll player.

#177 [player_tooltip player_id='1278453' first='Zach' last='Oxborrow'], Sky view

This could be the steal of the class as he is underrated and likely would be if he played at a bigger school. He consistently performed in crucial games, averaging over 20 points per game against strong competition. He possesses the tenacity that coaches value in their players. He displays a relentless competitive spirit and a strong work ethic. He is an accurate shooter and demonstrates natural scoring instincts. He could be an excellent find for a smaller college searching for an under-the-radar talent.
