[player_tooltip player_id='1959189' first='Cayman' last='Camfield'] (Wayne County) spearheaded the Wayne County Wildcat run to the TSSAA State Tournament in 2025. He was brilliant then and he is brilliant now. Camfield is consistently #1 on the scouting report for opponents. They plan their entire defensive strategy around stopping or slowing him.

Camfield averages 21.3 points per game along with 6.2 rpg, both tops among Wildcats. The senior registers nearly a point a minute played. He scores 33.4% of his team's points!

Wayne County crushed their first two Regional 6 Tournament opponents, and their superstar Cayman is one of the most dominant big men prepping for sub-state Monday night.

District Tournament MVP and Conference MVP [player_tooltip player_id='3541255' first='John' last='Hardin'] (Unaka) thrives with wonderful touch around the basket. Hardin is hoping to thrust Unaka's Rangers back to the State Tournament for the first time since 2005.

Perry County forwards [player_tooltip player_id='2418543' first='Landon' last='Warren'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2674198' first='Kenner' last='Haston'] dominate nightly. It would be a shame if neither get to make their State Tournament debut this month. In 1997, Kenner's dad Kirk Haston was named Mr. Basketball and State Championship MVP as Perry County's Vikings won all 37 games. This Perry County team is not 37-0 great, but they are good enough to make it to State.

Richland forward [player_tooltip player_id='2420372' first='Kade' last='McCormack'] earned District Tournament MVP. At 6-foot-5 he is an athletic Class A forward.

Sharpshooting wing [player_tooltip player_id='2420372' first='Kade' last='McCormack'] (Richland) might be the best player in this event though he will have some competition. At 6-foot-5 McCormack thrives facing the halo and does much damage from the corners. When McCormack posts up, he gives the team some court balance. - PrepHoopsTN eval 12/25

Is any Class A big is more critical to their team's success than Mr. Basketball-Finalist [player_tooltip player_id='2364080' first='Will' last='McCrary']? McCrary committed to the Maryville Scots earlier this winter. His footwork around the lane is impeccable. He rebounds high and finishes high consistently. Of the three Class 1A Mr. Basketball Finalists [player_tooltip player_id='2364080' first='Will' last='McCrary'] is the only forward, which essentially means he is the Class big with the best basketball reputation.

Like Perry County, Pickett County boasts two tremendous forward talents. [player_tooltip player_id='2441906' first='Nathaniel' last='Cobb'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2866490' first='Brody' last='Pryor'] put up numbers. District MVP [player_tooltip player_id='2441906' first='Nathaniel' last='Cobb'] averages 14.0 points per game. Pryor puts up 13.5 ppg. A strong young man, Pryor is a more traditional forward while Cobb is a bit of a wing.

As January ended PrepHoopsTN enjoyed a lengthy conversation with Pickett County Head Coach Lee Amonett and one of the big topics was [player_tooltip player_id='2441906' first='Nathaniel' last='Cobb'].

"He is putting up near triple-double numbers," said Coach Amonett at the time. "He had 17p, 9a, 7r against Jackson County. His game has really stepped up this year. He is drawing a tough defensive assignment for us, as well. The [forwards] are handling the ball and are out at the forefront of what we are doing."

Coach Amonett referred to both Cobb and Pryor in that analysis.
