Whether it was on the perimeter or in the paint, Piccione was everywhere making life difficult for Byram Hills. He finished the game with 5 points but his defense and solid play throughout earned him tournament MVP honors.

The stud sophomore again led the Dutchmen in scoring with 17 points in a balanced attack of slashing, efficient 3 point shot making, and high percentage free throw shooting. His aggressiveness was not limited to offense as Sanchez made some key steals and big blocks in the second half to help Tappan Zee start to run away with the victory.

The senior who earned All Tournament Honors finished with 16 points and took the game over in the second half with strong finishes at the rim to allow Tappan Zee to run away with the victory. When Bryam Hills applied pressure, Leveille wanted the ball in his hands to make a play and he consistently did just that.

The impressive sophomore used his physicality to make big defensive stops and timely baskets underneath the rim to keep Tappan Zees momentum going. A huge 3 pointer by Alexandre to start the second half was a turning point in the game for Tappan Zee as they seemed to have seize control of the game from that point forward. Alexandre finished with 10 points and, along with Sanchez, these two sophomores are set to lead Tappan Zee into the future.

The senior did everything he could for the Bobcats, finishing with 17 points on impressive displays of jump shooting and strong finishes at the rim. Tappan Zee made it a point to target in on Kendall defensively and he still found a way to create a rhythm for himself offensively. Despite the loss it was a strong showing for Kendall who earned himself all tournament honors.

The junior was making big plays on both ends and finished with 13 points. Wolf got hot in the final 5 minutes with a string of strong buckets as Byram Hills attempted to make a comeback but it was too little too late. Wolfs impressive footwork and soft touch around the rim were on full display and it will be exciting to follow Ben as a prospect heading into his senior year. Wolf earned himself all tournament honors.

The Tappan Zee boys basketball team defeated Byram Hills Friday night 51-38 in the Class A Section 1 Championship and will now move on to the Class A Regional Semifinals against Beacon. This is the second straight section 1 title for the Dutchmen and the third in four seasons. We saw great individual performances from the two powerhouses highlighted below, but in the end Tappan Zees star players got hot in the second half to run away with the victory.
